Qatar attends Arab League meeting in Cairo

Cairo: The State of Qatar participated yesterday in the 151st Session of the Council of the Arab League at the level of Permanent Delegates under the chairmanship of Somalia as a successor to Sudan, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League.
Qatar’s Permanent Representative to the Arab League Ambassador, Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al Sahlawi, chaired Qatar’s delegation to the meeting.
The session discusses the draft agenda, which includes the report of the Secretary-General on the activities of the Secretariat and the procedures for the implementation of Council resolutions between 150-151 sessions as well as the draft agenda of the Council of the Arab League at the 30th summit in Tunisia in March.
It also discusses issues related to the Palestinian issue and the Arab-Israeli conflict. This item includes a number of topics, including follow-up to the political developments of the Palestinian issue, the Arab-Israeli conflict, and activating the Arab peace initiative, in addition to the Israeli violations in the occupied Jerusalem, Arab water security, Israel’s theft of water in the occupied Arab territories, and the occupied Syrian Golan.
The session will discuss issues of solidarity with Lebanon, developments in Syria, Libya and Yemen, support for peace and development in Sudan, support for Somalia and countries from Africa.
The draft agenda includes a number of social and cultural issues, including support for internally displaced persons in Arab countries and displaced Iraqis in particular, and the proclamation of March 28 every year as a day to celebrate the Arab musical culture and permanent membership of the State of Palestine in the executive office of the Council of Arab Youth and Sports Ministers.
تشارك دولة قطر في أعمال الدورة ( 151) لمجلس جامعة الدول العربية على مستوى المندوبين الدائمين برئاسة الصومال خلفا للسودان، والتي انطلقت اليوم بمقر الأمانة العامة لجامعة الدول العربية.
وترأس وفد دولة قطر في الاجتماع سعادة السفير إبراهيم بن عبدالعزيز السهلاوي مندوب دولة قطر الدائم لدى جامعة الدول العربية.
وتناقش أعمال هذه الدورة مشروع جدول الأعمال والذي يتضمن تقرير الأمين العام عن نشاط الامانة العامة وإجراءات تنفيذ قرارات المجلس بين دورتي الانعقاد 150-151، ومشروع جدول أعمال مجلس جامعة الدول العربية على مستوى القمة في دورته العادية ( 30 ) المقررة بتونس نهاية الشهر الجاري.
كما تناقش بندا حول القضية الفلسطينية والصراع العربي – الاسرائيلي، ويشتمل هذا البند على عدد من الموضوعات منها متابعة التطورات السياسية للقضية الفلسطينية والصراع العربي الإسرائيلي وتفعيل مبادرة السلام العربية، والتطورات والانتهاكات الإسرائيلية في المدينة المحتلة، والأمن المائي العربي وسرقة إسرائيل للمياه في الأراضي العربية المحتلة، والجولان العربي السوري المحتل.
وتبحث الدورة موضوعات التضامن مع لبنان وتطورات الأوضاع في سوريا وليبيا واليمن ودعم السلام والتنمية في السودان، ودعم الصومال ودول من إفريقيا.
ويشتمل مشروع جدول الأعمال على عدد من القضايا الاجتماعية والثقافية، منها دعم النازحين داخليا في الدول العربية والنازحين العراقيين بشكل خاص وإعلان يوم 28 مارس من كل عام يوما للاحتفال بالثقافة الموسيقية العربية والعضوية الدائمة لدولة فلسطين في المكتب التنفيذي لمجلس وزراء الشباب والرياضة العرب.
