First exhibition of private associations and institutions to begin on March 1

Doha: The Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs and the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs have signed a cooperation and partnership agreement to launch the first annual exhibition of private associations and institutions.

The agreement was signed by the Assistant Undersecretary for Social Affairs at the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs, Ghanim Mubarak Al Kuwari, and the Director-General of Awqaf Public Administration at Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Dr Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed Al Thani. Al Kuwari said that the first annual exhibition of private associations and institutions will be held from March 1 to 3, 2019, in the partnership of the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs, and the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and a number of other bodies, through activating the role of civil society organizations represented by private associations and institutions to highlight their role in serving the Qatari community.

Al Kuwari stressed the ministry’s keenness to enrich and activate the role of these private associations and institutions and highlight their positive role in enhancing cooperation and activating social participation and achieving outputs that serve all segments of society through private associations and institutions.

Dr Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed Al Thani said that this agreement comes within a series of partnerships between the two ministries to support families in need, people with disabilities and NGOs. He stressed that this exhibition aims to introduce society to the role of NGOs and to provide the opportunity for the employees of these associations to present their projects. He announced that the General Directorate of Awqaf as the platinum sponsor of the exhibition will announce the two most important projects to be sponsored by the administration at the end of the exhibition.

The Director of the Private Associations and Institutions Department at the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs Naji Al Ajji, said that the exhibition is the first of its kind and aims to encourage and motivate civil society organizations to make efforts in community development.

وقّعت وزارة التنمية الإدارية والعمل والشؤون الاجتماعية، ووزارة الأوقاف والشؤون الإسلامية، أمس، اتفاقية تعاون وشراكة لإطلاق «المعرض السنوي الأول للجمعيات والمؤسسات الخاصة». وقّع الاتفاقية عن وزارة التنمية الإدارية والعمل والشؤون الاجتماعية السيد غانم مبارك الكواري وكيل الوزارة المساعد للشؤون الاجتماعية، وعن وزارة الأوقاف والشؤون الإسلامية الدكتور الشيخ خالد بن محمد آل ثاني مدير عام الإدارة العامة للأوقاف.

قال السيد غانم مبارك الكواري: «إن المعرض السنوي الأول للجمعيات والمؤسسات الخاصة»، الذي سوف يقام في الفترة من 1-3 مارس المقبل، ثمرة تنسيق الشراكة بين وزارة التنمية الإدارية والعمل والشؤون الاجتماعية ممثلة في إدارة الجمعيات والمؤسسات الخاصة ووزارة الأوقاف والشؤون الإسلامية ممثلة في الإدارة العامة للأوقاف، وعدد من الجهات الأخرى، وذلك من خلال تفعيل دور منظمات المجتمع المدني ممثلة بالجمعيات والمؤسسات الخاصة، لإبراز دورها في خدمة المجتمع القطري.

وأكد الكواري حرص الوزارة على إثراء وتفعيل دور هذه الجمعيات والمؤسسات الخاصة، وإبراز دورها الإيجابي في تعزيز التعاون، وتفعيل المشاركة الاجتماعية، وتحقيق مخرجات تخدم جميع شرائح المجتمع، من خلال الجمعيات والمؤسسات الخاصة.

من جهته، أكد الدكتور الشيخ خالد بن محمد آل ثاني أن هذه الاتفاقية تأتي ضمن سلسلة من الشراكات بين الإدارة العامة للأوقاف بوزارة الأوقاف والشؤون الإسلامية وبين قطاع الشؤون الاجتماعية بوزارة التنمية الإدارية والعمل والشؤون الاجتماعية، لدعم الأسر المحتاجة وذوي الإعاقة والجمعيات الأهلية، مضيفاً أن الإدارة العامة للأوقاف تعد أكبر الداعمين للجمعيات الأهلية، وذلك تحقيقاً لشعار: «الوقف شراكة مجتمعية».

وشدد على أن هذا المعرض يهدف إلى تعريف المجتمع بدور الجمعيات الأهلية، وإتاحة الفرصة لمنتسبي هذه الجمعيات لعرض مشاريعهم، معلناً أن الإدارة العامة للأوقاف بصفتها الراعي البلاتيني للمعرض، سوف تعلن عن أهم مشروعين سيتم رعايتهما من قبل الإدارة، وذلك في نهاية المعرض.

بدوره، قال السيد ناجي العجي -مدير إدارة الجمعيات والمؤسسات الخاصة بوزارة التنمية الإدارية والعمل والشؤون الاجتماعية- إن المعرض هو الأول من نوعه، ويهدف إلى تشجيع وتحفيز منظمات المجتمع المدني على بذل الجهود في التنمية المجتمعية.;
