Amiri Air Force receives first French fighter aircraft Rafale

Bordeaux, France: The Qatari Amiri Air Force received the first French Fighter Aircraft ‘Rafale’ yesterday.
The aircraft delivery ceremony was held at the headquarters of Dassault Aviation in Bordeaux, France, in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs H E Dr. Khalid bin Mohamed Al Attiyah, Secretary of State to the French Minister of the Armed Forces Genevieve Darrieussecq, and Chairman and CEO of Dassault Aviation Eric Trappier.
In a speech on the occasion, H E Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs highlighted the historic relations between the two friendly countries.
H E Al Attiyah chose ‘Al-Adiyat’ to be the official name of the Qatari Rafale aircraft, because it was mentioned in the Holy Quran.
The State of Qatar signed an agreement with the French Republic in 2015 to supply the Amiri Air Force with 24 Rafale aircraft, and later activated the item by increasing the number of aircraft by 12 more.
The ceremony was attended by Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the French Republic Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al Thani, Commander of Amiri Air Force H E Major-General (Pilot) Mubarak bin Mohammed Al Kumait Al Khayareen, Qatari Military Attache in France Brigadier-General Engineer Mohammed Mubarak Al Shahwani, and a number of senior officers of the Qatari Armed Forces.

جرت مراسم التسليم في مقر شركة داسو للطيران بمدينة بوردو الفرنسية، بحضور سعادة الدكتور خالد بن محمد العطية نائب رئيس مجلس الوزراء وزير الدولة لشؤون الدفاع، وسعادة السيدة جونفييف داريوسيك وزيرة الدولة لدى وزيرة الجيوش الفرنسية، وسعادة السيد إيريك ترابييه رئيس شركة داسو للطيران. وقد ألقى سعادة نائب رئيس مجلس الوزراء وزير الدولة لشؤون الدفاع بهذه المناسبة كلمة تناول فيها العلاقات التاريخية بين البلدين الصديقين.
كما أطلق سعادته خلال الكلمة اسم «العاديات» على سرب الرافال القطري ليكون الاسم الرسمي للطائرات المقاتلة القطرية، تيمناً بذكرها في القرآن الكريم.
يذكر أن دولة قطر وقعت اتفاقية مع جمهورية فرنسا في عام 2015 لتزويد القوات الجوية الأميرية القطرية بـ 24 طائرة من طائرات الرافال وقامت في وقت لاحق بتفعيل بند زيادة 12 طائرة.
حضر مراسم التسليم أيضاً سعادة الشيخ علي بن جاسم آل ثاني سفير دولة قطر لدى الجمهورية الفرنسية وسعادة اللواء ركن (طيار) مبارك بن محمد الكميت قائد القوات الجوية الأميرية القطرية، وسعادة العميد الركن مهندس (جو) محمد مبارك الشهواني وعدد من كبار القادة الضباط في القوات المسلحة القطرية.;
