Second Qatar-US Strategic Dialogue on Sunday

Doha: The Second Qatar–US Strategic Dialogue will be held on Sunday (January 13) in Doha at Sheraton Hotel. The Qatari-US strategic dialogue is expected to be attended by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo whose visit to Qatar is coinciding with event.
The second session of the dialogue will focus on strengthening strategic ties between the two countries in the fields of defence, security, economy and trade in the light of the success and achievements of the first session of the dialogue. The first round of the dialogue was held in Washington, DC on January 30, 2018 and was attended by H E Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and H E Dr. Khalid bin Mohamed Al Attiyah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs, along with Ministers of Energy, Commerce and Finance of the two countries.
The inaugural Qatar-US Strategic Dialogue last year played a major role in terms of the strong partnership agreements between Washington and Doha in many fields. Qatar and the US signed last year a memorandum of understanding and partnership to combat terrorism and extremist acts.
William Grant, Chargé d’Affaires, ad interim of the United States of America in Qatar, on Saturday (January 5) tweeted: “US Embassy looking forward to welcoming Sectary of State Pompeo to Qatar for his first visit, to chair the second annual US-Qatar Strategic Dialogue in Doha”.

جرى خلال المقابلة استعراض علاقات الصداقة والتعاون الاستراتيجي بين البلدين في مختلف المجالات، كما تم البحث في عدد من الموضوعات ذات الاهتمام المشترك.;
