Qatari grant to be redirected to Gaza humanitarian projects

Gaza: The Chairman of the National Committee for the Reconstruction of Gaza, Ambassador H E Mohammed Al Emadi stressed yesterday that the remainder of a Qatari grant to Gaza people worth $150m will be redirected to humanitarian projects in the strip that will be done in cooperation with the United Nations.

Al Emadi said in a press conference yesterday that the decision was agreed upon after Hamas, led by Ismail Haniyah, said they would not accept the Qatari grant under any conditions put by Israel, and in a bid from the State of Qatar to lift pressure off all parties involved.

The Ambassador said that the main goal of the Qatari grant to Gaza is to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people, but it was interpreted as calm for the dollar in order to break the will of the Palestinian people and undermine its national resistance groups.

He also noted that there were other parties who were looking to use the humanitarian aid to steer internal elections and to make political gains, stressing at the same time on the right of the Palestinian people to demonstrate and convey the message of their suffering to the world.

Ambassador Al Emadi also reviewed the latest efforts of Qatar regarding the Palestinian reconciliation, pointing out that he recently held a meeting with the Minister of Civil Affairs Hussein Al Sheikh to discuss a number of important topics, including the Rafah crossing and the Palestinian elections as well as the invitation made by Russia for the Palestinian parties to visit it.

بدأ أكثر من 40 ألف فلسطيني في قطاع غزة، أمس السبت، بتلقي مساعدات نقدية، ضمن المنحة المالية التي قدمتها دولة قطر لقطاع غزة، ومن المزمع مواصلة صرفها اليوم الأحد لـ 50 ألف أسرة أخرى. وتجمّع المئات من الفلسطينيين أمام فروع بنك البريد (حكومي)، في محافظات قطاع غزة، لتلقي مساعدات الدفعة الثالثة من المنحة.

قال يوسف إبراهيم، وكيل وزارة «التنمية الاجتماعية» بغزة، لوكالة «الأناضول»: «بدأ بعد ظهر (السبت) صرف المساعدات المالية ضمن المنحة القطرية، لـ 44 ألف أسرة فقيرة في القطاع». وأضاف: «ستحصل كل أسرة على مبلغ 100 دولار».

وأشار إبراهيم إلى أن «الأسر المستفيدة اليوم من الصرف، هي ذاتها التي استفادت من المنحة خلال الدفعتين الأولى والثانية».

وتابع: «(الأحد) سيتم إصدار كشف أسماء جديد، يشمل 50 ألف عائلة فقيرة جديدة، سيحصلون أيضاً على مساعدات مماثلة».

وكان رئيس اللجنة القطرية لإعادة إعمار غزة، السفير محمد العمادي، قد أعلن الجمعة أن منحة بلاده المالية الخاصة بموظفي قطاع غزة، سيتم صرفها لصالح مشاريع إنسانية بالتنسيق مع الأمم المتحدة، بعد أن رفضت حركة «حماس» استلامها.

وقال العمادي، في مؤتمر صحافي من مدينة غزة: «بعد أن أبلغتنا حماس قرارها عدم قبول المنحة تحت أي شرط (..) تم التوافق على تخصيص الأموال لمشاريع إنسانية بالتنسيق والتعاون الكامل مع الأمم المتحدة».

ومساء الخميس الماضي، أعلنت حركة «حماس» رفضها استقبال أموال المنحة المالية، رداً على «سلوك» إسرائيل ومحاولتها «التملص من تفاهمات التهدئة». وقبل 3 أسابيع، قررت إسرائيل -وللمرة الثانية- وقف تحويل الأموال، متذرعة بـ «أعمال عنف» قرب المنطقة الحدودية للقطاع.

وفي أكتوبر 2018، قررت الدوحة المنحة كمساعدة إنسانية عاجلة، للتخفيف من تفاقم المأساة الإنسانية في القطاع.;
