Qatar’s labour reforms highlighted at Morocco forum

Marrakech: A delegation from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Interior, Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs and the Planning and Statistics Authority participated in the Migration and Development Forum, which ended in Marrakech, Morocco.

During the forum, Qatar’s experience in reforming the safe and orderly movement of labour and providing a flexible and stimulating labour market for the private sector was highlighted, with the clarification of the labour market strategy 2018-2022 aimed at enhancing the protection of the rights and interests of all producers and workers, and provides skilled labour and high productivity, in addition to labour market governance to ensure the provision of current and future needs.

The three-day forum discussed migration and development issues under the chairmanship of the Kingdom of Morocco and Germany, in the presence and participation of senior officials and representatives of more than 100 countries, as well as civil society organisations, the private sector and international organisations concerned with migration and development issues.

شارك وفد من وزارات الخارجية والداخلية والتنمية الإدارية والعمل والشؤون الاجتماعية، وجهاز التخطيط والإحصاء، في منتدى الهجرة والتنمية، الذي اختتم أعماله في مدينة مراكش بالمملكة المغربية، واستمر ثلاثة أيام.

وخلال المنتدى، تم عرض تجربة دولة قطر في الإصلاحات للتنقل الآمن والمنظم للعمالة، وتوفير سوق عمل مرن ومحفز للقطاع الخاص، مع إيضاح استراتيجية سوق العمل 2018-2022، التي تهدف إلى تعزيز حماية حقوق ومصالح جميع أطراف الإنتاج من عمال وأصحاب عمل، والسعي إلى خلق سوق عمل يشجع الاستثمار، ويوفر عمالة ماهرة وإنتاجية عالية، بالإضافة إلى حوكمة سوق العمل، بما يضمن توفير احتياجاته الحالية والمستقبلية.

ناقش المنتدى قضايا الهجرة والتنمية برئاسة المملكة المغربية وألمانيا، وبحضور ومشاركة مسؤولين كبار وممثلي أكثر من 100 دولة، إضافة إلى منظمات المجتمع المدني والقطاع الخاص، والمنظمات الدولية المعنية بقضايا الهجرة والتنمية.;
