Dreama launches importance of fostering orphans campaign

Doha: The Orphan Care Center, Dreama, has launched an awareness campaign under the banner of ‘Their Happiness Is Ours’ to raise awareness among the society individuals with regard to the importance of fostering orphans and its impact on their happiness.

Thirty public figures from different sectors in the Qatari community will participate in the campaign that will continue up to January 25. The campaign will provide awareness massages through social media platforms on fostering orphans and efforts to bring happiness to them.

Through this campaign Dreama also seeks to reach all community segments to promote their awareness on the importance of fostering orphans, being the natural environment for the orphan child, and stressing the importance of growing the child in a normal upbringing environment, in which societal justice is achieved based on integrity and interrelations among the people of the society, and based on the teachings of our righteous religion that urge for such values of the Qatari community.

In this framework Mariam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad, Executive Director of the Orphan Care Center, made clear that the Center is undertaking a key role in providing the foster families and continuous support for the orphan children category.

“Dreama has also launched ‘Their Happiness Is Ours’ campaign that reflects Dreama’s belief in the importance of integrating the orphans as a social principle and the positive role that a foster family can play throughout the upbringing of the orphan child and its support for his stability and welfare,” she said.

She added: “Through this campaign and other similar events we are seeking to promote society integration and empowerment of the children of Dreama, raise awareness on the responsibility of the community towards this important category of the society, develop the society’s vision of the orphan child that he, along with his companions, will form the future, expectations and power, and they are a main component of the society.”

The campaign further encourages Qatari families to foster orphans; such a process entails undertaking the responsibility of fostering an orphan child, bringing him up, providing care and maintaining a sustainable and honourable life, noting that changing the society’s perspectives towards the orphans’ issues has been one the challenges that the Center has tackled successfully.

An example for this is that there are tens of families who are willing to foster children following a number of intensive campaigns that were promoted by means of media, and organising workshops in which religious scholars and preachers took part where they contributed to guiding the society and people on the virtues of fostering orphans.

For his part Ahmed Al Ghanim, Head of Preparation & Design Unit at the Community Awareness Office, stressed that it is not just Dreama Centre’s responsibility towards the orphan children but it is the entire community’s as they are an essential part of the society and they have tremendous potential and capabilities that should be developed and promoted to serve their country.

“The campaign will continue for a whole month seeking to raise awareness on the issues of the orphans and the importance of fostering the children of Dreama. For our part we have focused during 2018 on launching a variety of awareness campaigns and we affirm that we will continue to organise such campaigns in 2019,” he said.

أطلق مركز رعاية الأيتام «دريمة» حملة توعوية تحت شعار «سعادتهم سعادتنا»، لنشر الوعي بين أفراد المجتمع بأهمية احتضان الأيتام وأثره في إسعادهم.

تشارك في الحملة التي تستمر حتى 25 يناير المقبل، 30 شخصية عامة من قطاعات مختلفة بالمجتمع وتتضمن الحملة تقديم رسائل توعوية من خلال منصات التواصل الاجتماعي تخص الاحتضان وإسعاد الأيتام.

كما يسعى «دريمة» من خلال هذه الحملة إلى الوصول لجميع شرائح المجتمع من أجل توعيتهم بأهمية الاحتضان بوصفه البيئة الطبيعية للطفل اليتيم، حتى ينشأ نشأة طبيعية، تتحقق فيها العدالة المجتمعية القائمة على التضامن والترابط بين أفراد المجتمع، والتي حثت عليها تعاليم ديننا الحنيف وقيم المجتمع القطري.

وفي هذا الإطار، أوضحت السيدة مريم بنت علي بن ناصر المسند، المدير التنفيذي لمركز رعاية الأيتام «دريمة»، أن المركز ينهض بدور رئيسي في توفير الاحتضان الأسري والمتابعة المستمرة لفئة الأطفال الأيتام. وأضافت أن المركز أطلق حملة «سعادتهم سعادتنا» إيماناً منه بأهمية دمج هؤلاء كمبدأ اجتماعي، وبالدور الإيجابي الذي تلعبه الأسرة الحاضنة، في تنشئة وتربية الطفل المُحتضن واستقراره ورفاهته، وتابعت: نسعى من خلال هذه الحملة، والفعاليات المماثلة، إلى تعزيز الدمج المجتمعي والتمكين لأبناء «دريمة»، والتوعية بالمسؤولية المجتمعية تجاه هذه الشريحة المهمة من المجتمع، والعمل على تعزيز نظرة المجتمع إلى الطفل اليتيم، بأنه وأقرانه يمثلون المستقبل والأمل والقوة، ورافداً مهماً في المجتمع.

وقالت: «إن الحملة تشجع على احتضان الأيتام في كنف أسرة تتولى تربيتهم ورعايتهم، وتوفير حياة كريمة بشكل مستدام»، لافتة إلى أن تغيير نظرة المجتمع تجاه قضايا الأيتام كانت من التحديات التي نجح المركز في تخطيها، منوهة بأنه كانت هناك عشرات الأسر الراغبة في احتضان الأطفال بعد عدة حملات مكثفة عن طريق وسائل الإعلام، وعقد ورش عمل بمشاركة دعاة وخطباء ساهموا في توجيه المجتمع وحثه على فضائل كفالة اليتيم واحتضانه. ومن جانبه، أكد أحمد غانم رئيس وحدة الإعداد والتصميم بمكتب التوعية المجتمعية في «دريمة»، أن مسؤولية رعاية الأيتام لا يختص بها «دريمة» فقط، بل المجتمع كله معني بهذه الفئة، لأنهم جزء لا يتجزأ منه، ويملكون قدرات وإمكانيات هائلة يجب تطويرها وتنميتها لخدمة بلدهم. وقال: «خططنا في هذه الحملة على مفهوم السعادة وأهمية ربط سعادتنا بسعادتهم، وركزنا بشكل كبير في اختيار رسائل منوعة لشخصيات عامة في المجتمع في مختلف القطاعات والجهات، حتى نصل برسالتنا إلى أفراد المجتمع كافة»، لافتاً إلى أن الحملة سوف تمتد على مدى شهر كامل من أجل التوعية بقضايا الأيتام، وأهمية الاحتضان لأبناء «دريمة».

وأضاف: ركزنا خلال عام 2018 على إطلاق مجموعة من الحملات التوعوية التي سوف تتواصل خلال 2019.
