A year full of accomplishments for Qatar Social Work Foundation

Doha: Since its inception five years ago, Qatar Social Work Foundation (QSWF) have been seeking to support the effectiveness and diversity of civil society organisations and become a leading institution in the field of social work that can achieve family and community cohesion, address the challenges and interact with global changes.

H H Sheikha Moza bint Nasser launched the QSWF in 2013 as a private organisation for public benefit. It aims to develop civil society organisations working under its umbrella, enhance their capacities, promote and activate their roles in society and develop strategies, policies and programmes that contribute to upgrading these organisations so that they would be able to achieve their objectives.

The QSWF oversees a number of organisations including Social Development Centre (Nama), Al Shafallah Center for Persons with Disability, Family Counseling Center, The Orphan Care Center (Dreama), The Centre for Elderly Empowerment & Care (Ehsan), Social Rehabilitation & Protection Center (Aman), and Qatar Best Buddies initiative. 2018 was an exceptional year for the QSWF when it comes to its objectives of developing and empowering civil society organizations operating under its umbrella. The executive body of the QSWF continued its work to ensure that its specialisations and focuses are consistent with its strategic objectives of activating its role in the Qatari society and ensuring that civil society organisations are contributing to the realization of Qatar National Vision 2030 through establishing best practices for planning, analysis and evaluation of the work and performance of the QSWF and the affiliated organisations.

Due to its emphasis on the continuous development and keeping up with local and international changes and challenges, Qatar Social Work Foundation worked on keeping pace with the preparation of Qatar’s National Development Strategy 2017-2022 by taking part in the work of its preparation and contributing to the elaboration of its plan.

The QSWF and its organisations participated in the eight sectoral working groups and contributed actively to the preparations of the sectoral strategies of the National Development Strategy, especially in the social protection sector, which the Foundation and its centres have enhanced their opportunities to integrate all the QSWF’s projects and centres, whether awareness-raising or service projects or institutional and community capacity-building.

In this context, it was important for the QSWF to update and develop its strategy to meet the requirements and challenges of the next phase as defined by the National Development Strategy 2017-2022. The preparation of the Foundation’s strategy began a few months ago and it will be concluded soon. The task forces initially began with a critical reading of the strategic objectives adopted by the QSWF in 2015 in light of the challenges and new components of the Social Protection Sector Strategy 2017-2022. This was done to develop the objectives and make them more responsive to the challenges and changes that have taken place since then.

It is the responsibility of the QSWF to ensure coordination between the various strategic plans of the organisations under its umbrella to ensure the implementation of strategic plans and its commitment to projects and strategic directions.

افتتحت المؤسسة القطرية للعمل الاجتماعي، والمراكز المنضوية تحت مظلتها، أمس الخيمة المشاركة بفعاليات درب الساعي 2018 تحت شعار «قطر ستبقى حرة»، حيث قدمت مجموعة من الأطفال عروضاً على أنغام الأغاني الوطنية. وتعتبر هذه المشاركة الثانية للمؤسسة القطرية للعمل الاجتماعي بخيمة كاملة بدرب الساعي، بهدف مشاركة جميع الأطفال وأسرهم بطرق تفاعلية ومبتكرة.

قامت سعادة الأستاذة آمال بنت عبداللطيف المناعي الرئيس التنفيذي للمؤسسة القطرية للعمل الاجتماعي بافتتاح الخيمة الخاصة بالمؤسسة والمراكز، وقالت بهذه المناسبة إن المؤسسة تتشرف بمشاركة القيادة الرشيدة والمواطنين احتفالات البلاد بفعاليات اليوم الوطني، ونيابة عن العاملين في المؤسسة والمراكز المنضوية تحت مظلتها، نرفع أسمى آيات التهاني والتبريكات لمقام حضرة صاحب السمو الشيخ تميم بن حمد آل ثاني أمير البلاد المفدى، ولحكومته الرشيدة، والشعب القطري المخلص، على هذه المناسبة الوطنية التي ينتظرها المجتمع القطري، بكافة أطيافه كل عام.

وتساهم المؤسسة القطرية للعمل الاجتماعي، بشكل إيجابي، في تنمية المراكز التي تعمل تحت مظلتها، لتعزيز قدراتها والنهوض بها، وتطوير وتفعيل دورها في المجتمع، ووضع الاستراتيجيات والسياسات التي تساهم في الارتقاء بمنظمات المجتمع المدني المنضوية تحت مظلتها وتكامل خدماتها، ودعمها لتحقيق الأهداف التي أنشئت من أجلها.

ومنذ انطلاقتها قبل خمسة أعوام، تسعى المؤسسة القطرية للعمل الاجتماعي إلى دعم تكاملية وفاعلية وتنوع منظمات المجتمع المدني، وتحاول أن تكون مؤسسة رائدة في مجال العمل الاجتماعي، من أجل تحقيق التماسك الأسري والمجتمعي، وقادرة على مواجهة التحديات، ومتفاعلة مع التغيرات العالمية.

وأطلقت صاحبة السمو الشيخة موزا بنت ناصر، هذه المؤسسة الرائدة في العام 2013، كمؤسسة خاصة ذات نفع عام، بهدف تنمية منظمات المجتمع المدني التي تعمل تحت مظلتها، وتعزيز قدراتها والنهوض بها، وتطوير وتفعيل دورها في المجتمع، ووضع الاستراتيجيات والسياسات والبرامج التي تساهم في الارتقاء بتلك المنظمات، بما يمكنها من تحقيق الأهداف التي أنشأت من أجلها.

وينضوي تحت مظلة المؤسسة عدد من منظمات المجتمع المدني التي تعمل والمتمثلة في مركز الإنماء الاجتماعي «نماء»، ومركز الشفلح للأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة، ومركز الاستشارات العائلية «وفاق»، ومركز رعاية الايتام «دريمة»، ومركز تمكين ورعاية كبار السن «إحسان»، مركز الحماية والتأهيل الاجتماعي «أمان»، ومبادرة بست باديز قطر.

وشكّل العام 2018 فترة استثنائية بالنسبة للمؤسسة القطرية للعمل الاجتماعي في تحقيق أهداف المؤسسة الرامية إلى تنمية وتمكين منظمات المجتمع المدني التي تعمل تحت مظلتها، فقد تابع الجهاز التنفيذي بالمؤسسة عمله، لضمان اتساق اختصاصات المؤسسة مع أهدافها الاستراتيجية، وتفعيل دورها في المجتمع القطري، والسعي إلى تحقيق منظمات المجتمع المدني لرؤية دولة قطر الوطنية 2030، وذلك عن طريق ترسيخ أفضل الممارسات المتعلقة بإجراءات التخطيط والتحليل والتقييم لعمل وأداء المؤسسة والمراكز المنضوية تحت مظلتها.

وإيماناً منها بعملية التطوير المستمر ومواكبة التغيرات والتحديات المحلية والدولية، التي تطرأ في مجالات التنمية والعمل الاجتماعي والعمل على تحليل تبعاتها وتأثيرها واستيعاب آثارها، عملت المؤسسة القطرية للعمل الاجتماعي على مواكبة إعداد استراتيجية التنمية الوطنية لدولة قطر 2017-2022، وذلك عبر المشاركة في أعمال إعدادها، والمساهمة في بلورة خطتها.;
