PM chairs first meeting of National Tourism Council

DOHA: Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of National Tourism Council (NTC), chaired NTC’s first meeting, yesterday.
The meeting reviewed the summary of the National Tourism Sector Strategy 2017-2023 approved by the Supreme Council for Economic Affairs and Investment during its the third meeting of 2017 and what has been achieved since its adoption, in addition to discussing the summary of the governance of the new tourism sector and the functions of NTC’s General Secretariat.
Furthermore, the meeting discussed the tourism projects and initiatives, the most important challenges facing them and ways to deal with these challenges.
The Prime Minister stressed the need to continue implementing the initiatives emanating from the National Tourism Sector Strategy 2017-2023 and implementing quick impact initiatives to ensure that the development of the sector does not stop, as well as completing the legislative and administrative procedures for the establishment of NTC.
Also, the Prime Minister affirmed the importance of cooperation and concerted efforts to achieve the desired success in partnership with the private sector for the development of the tourism industry, which needs to be developed at all levels in order to ensure the authenticity and excellence of the tourist’s experience, and that the experience reflects the culture of the people of Qatar and represents their modern vision of the future.
شهد معالي الشيخ عبدالله بن ناصر بن خليفة آل ثاني رئيس مجلس الوزراء ووزير الداخلية الجلسة الافتتاحية للمؤتمر العالمي للسلامة المرورية، والذي تنظمه وزارة الداخلية بالتعاون مع جامعة قطر بفندق شيراتون الدوحة صباح اليوم.
حضر الجلسة عدد من أصحاب السعادة الوزراء والمسؤولين وكبار الشخصيات والباحثين والمختصين في مجال النقل والسلامة وضيوف المؤتمر.
وعقب الجلسة افتتح معالي رئيس مجلس الوزراء ووزير الداخلية المعرض المروري المصاحب للمؤتمر، والذي تشارك فيه عدد من الجهات بالدولة ، حيث قام معاليه بجولة اطلع خلالها على أبرز الجهود المشتركة في تعزيز السلامة المرورية، إضافة إلى أحدث التقنيات المستخدمة في هندسة وسلامة الطرق.
ويناقش المؤتمر عدة محاور تغطي كافة الجوانب ذات الصلة بالسلامة على الطرق، مثل هندسة السلامة المرورية، وسلوكيات القيادة، ومستخدمي الطرق المعرضين للخطر، وسبل تنفيذ القانون، وطرق التحقيق لما بعد الحوادث، والتكنولوجيا الداخلية للمركبات، وسلامة وأمن النقل، وأنظمة النقل الذكية، وانسيابية الحركة المرورية، وتصميم الطرق، والنقل العام، واقتصاديات وسياسات النقل، وإدارة الحركة المرورية، وخدمات النقل اللوجستية، والتخطيط العمراني واستخدام الأراضي.
