QC raising QR22m funds for development projects in Gaza

DOHA: Qatar Charity is running a fund raising campaign to implement development projects worth QR22m and to support poor and unemployment people in Gaza.

The campaign “Gaza the Right to Live” aims at implementing various development projects at a cost of nearly QR22m, said a release. Over 77,500 needy Gazans are expected to benefit from the projects.

The joint campaign entitled “Gaza the Right to Live” was launched under the supervision of the Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities (RACA) last Sunday.

Qatar Red Crescent, Qatar Charity, Education Above All, and the Silatech Foundation are participating in the campaign with the aim of continuing to strengthen development efforts in favour of the people of the Gaza Strip and meet their basic needs in various areas amidst the ongoing humanitarian crisis.

The fund will be used in creating educational opportunities, vocational training for the hearing impairment, offering assistance to university students, repairing the houses of the poor, providing adequate and safe lighting to them.

The projects will also help providing fuel to the generators of health centers, fitting prosthetic limbs for the disabled, providing transportation for the treatment of patients with renal failure, rehabilitating sewage plants and providing farms to poor families.

Qatar Charity expressed its thanks and gratitude to the people in Qatar, who began to interact with its projects, which need to be financed in the framework of the campaign.

The charity urged donors to support the campaign, which will continue until October 20, in order to achieve its goals.

The charity also noted that the people of the Gaza are in urgent need for food, health care, education and housing, as they are deprived of their most basic rights, and struggling desperately to survive.

The benefactors can contribute to the campaign by directly making donations at Qatar Charity’s headquarters, its 25 branches and 92 collection points located in commercial complexes within the country.

During the period 2008-2018, the charity managed to implement 1462 relief and development projects in several areas, and sponsored more than 15,000 people within its social welfare efforts, benefiting 750,000 people annually.

واصلت «قطر الخيرية» استقبال التبرعات لحملة «غزة تستحق الحياة «، من أجل توفير الدعم لتنفيذ مشاريع في عدة مجالات تنموية، بقيمة تصل إلى حوالي 22 مليون ريال، وتستهدف من خلالها حوالي 77.500 شخص من سكان قطاع غزة، ممن تتضاعف معاناتهم المعيشية، بسبب تزايد معدلات الفقر والبطالة.‬

تسعى «قطر الخيرية»، من خلال المشاريع التي تسعى لتمويلها، عبر هذه الحملة، إلى المساهمة في دعم تعليم الطلبة، والتدريب المهني للصم، ومساعدة الطلبة الجامعيين (المجال التعليمي)، وإلى ترميم بيوت الفقراء، وتوفير الإنارة الآمنة لها (المشاريع الاجتماعية)، وتوفير المحروقات لمولدات المراكز الصحية، وتركيب الأطراف الصناعية للمعاقين، وتوفير المواصلات لعلاج مرضى الفشل الكلوي (مجال الرعاية الصحية)، وصيانة وتأهيل محطات الصرف الصحي (مجال المياه والإصحاح)، وتمليك المزارع للأسر الفقيرة (مشاريع التمكين الاقتصادي)، وينتظر أن يصل عدد المستفيدين منها حوالي 77.500 شخص، بهدف تحسين مستوى معيشتهم.‬

وقد توجّهت «قطر الخيرية» بالشكر والامتنان لأهل الخير في قطر الذين بدأوا التفاعل مع مشاريعها التي طرحتها للتمويل في إطار حملة «غزة تستحق الحياة»، وحثت على بذل المزيد من الدعم والتبرع، وصولاً إلى أهدافها المتمثلة بتمويل جميع المشاريع المستهدفة في الحملة، منوهة بأن الحملة تتواصل حتى العشرين من شهر أكتوبر الحالي، لافتة إلى أن أهل غزة الذين حرموا من أبسط حقوقهم في الحياة، مثل: الغذاء، والرعاية الصحية، والتعليم، والسكن، يستحقون الوقوف إلى جانبهم، للتخفيف من معاناتهم الإنسانية المزمنة.‬
