Qatar ranked first among Arab states in food security index
قطر تحصل على المرتبة الأولى عربياً بمؤشر الأمن الغذائي

Qatar was ranked first among Arab countries and 22nd overall in the Global Food Security Index 2018, released by The Economist Intelligence Unit.
The index considers the core issues of affordability, availability, and quality across a set of 113 countries.
The Global Food Security Index is a dynamic quantitative and qualitative benchmarking model, constructed from 28 unique indicators, that measures these drivers of food security across both developing and developed countries.
The index also looks at the impact that natural resources and resilience have on food security.
It showcased Qatar’s ability in various food security issues.
Qatar was ranked higher than 91 countries that included Italy, Russia, China, Turkey, India, Pakistan, Poland, Greece, Hungary, and Argentina. It has managed to make a number of breakthroughs in food security, following the blockade imposed on it on June 5, 2017.
HE the Minister of Municipality and Environment Mohamed bin Abdullah al-Rumaihi said in a speech given during a ceremony to honour agricultural producers that the sector was developing greatly following the blockade, with rapid growth in agricultural, animal and fish products.
حققت قطر المرتبة الأولى عربياً والثانية والعشرين عالمياً في مؤشر الأمن الغذائي العالمي للعام 2018 الصادر عن وحدة «إيكونوميست إنتليجنس» للأبحاث وهي وحدة المعلومات التابعة لمجلة الإيكونوميست.
واستند مؤشر الأمن الغذائي في تصنيفه والذي يضم 113 دولة على مستوى العالم، إلى حزمة من المعايير أهمها: مقدار توافر الغذاء ، وسهولة الحصول على الغذاء بأسعار مناسبة، ومعايير الجودة والسلامة بقطاع الأغذية ، وتنوّع النظام الغذائيّ ، والبنية الأساسيَّة الزراعيَّة ، والناتج المحلي الإجمالي للفرد وفقًا لتعادل القدرة الشرائية بالدولار الأميركي وسهولة توفير التمويل للمزارعين والإنفاق على الزراعة ومعدلات العرض مقارنة بمستويات الطلب.
وأبرزت دولة قطر قدرتها على توفير الأمن الغذائي متفوقة على 91 دولة حول العالم من أبرزها بخلاف الدول العربية: إيطاليا وروسيا والصين وتركيا والهند وباكستان وبولندا واليونان والمجر والأرجنتين.
ونجحت قطر في تحقيق طفرات في مجال الأمن الغذائي عقب الحصار المفروض عليها منذ الخامس من يونيو 2017 حيث أكد سعادة السيد محمد بن عبدالله الرميحي وزير البلدية والبيئة في كلمته مؤخراً بحفل تكريم المنتجين الزراعيين، إن إن القطاع الزراعي شهد تطورا كبيراً في الفترة التي تلت الحصار حيث زاد إنتاج الدولة من المنتجات الزراعية والحيوانية والسمكية بنسب كبيرة.
