Qatar condemns aggression on Great March of Return in Gaza

Doha: The State of Qatar expressed its strong condemnation of the brutal repression and the use of live bullets by the Israeli occupying forces against the ongoing Great March of Return protests on the eastern border of the Gaza Strip, which led to the martyrdom of six Palestinians and injuries to dozens more.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that the Israeli escalation was a violation of international laws and conventions, calling on the international community and the UN Security Council to assume their responsibility in containing the Israeli war machine and its collective punishment policy directed against the Palestinian people.

It highlighted the State of Qatar’s firm support to the Palestinian cause and the struggle of the Palestinian people in order to guarantee the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with the 1967 borders and Jerusalem as its capital.

أعربت دولة قطر عن إدانتها واستنكارها الشديدين، للقمع الوحشي واستخدام قوات الاحتلال الإسرائيلي الرصاص الحي في مواجهة مسيرات العودة على الحدود الشرقية لقطاع غزة، وقد أسفر الهجوم عن استشهاد ستة فلسطينيين، بينهم أربعة أطفال، وعشرات الجرحى ليضافوا إلى عشرات الشهداء وآلاف الجرحى منذ بداية مسيرات العودة. واعتبرت وزارة الخارجية، في بيان أمس، التصعيد العسكري الخطير لقوات الاحتلال الإسرائيلي، انتهاكاً صارخاً للمواثيق والقوانين الدولية، كما تطالب الوزارة المجتمع الدولي ومجلس الأمن بتحمل مسؤولياته ولجم آلة الحرب الإسرائيلية وسياسة العقاب الجماعي التي تتبعها قوات الاحتلال ضد الشعب الفلسطيني وتوفير الحماية للمدنيين الأبرياء. وجددت وزارة الخارجية التأكيد على موقف دولة قطر الثابت والدائم في دعم القضية الفلسطينية وصمود الشعب الفلسطيني الشقيق، بما يضمن إقامة دولته المستقلة على حدود 1967 وعاصمتها القدس الشريف، بالإضافة إلى حق اللاجئين في العودة إلى أراضيهم.;
