Qatar takes part in Seatrade Cruise Med in Lisbon

DOHA: Minister of Transport and Communications H E Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti paid a visit to Qatar’s pavilion at the Seatrade Cruise Med exhibition, which opened in Portuguese capital Lisbon on Wednesday.

The Minister was accompanied by Qatari Ambassador to Portugal Saad bin Ali Al Mohannadi.

The Minister and his accompanying delegation were briefed on the Qatari pavilion, its displays and the importance of the exhibition where Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) and Qatar Ports Management Company (MWANI Qatar) participate.

He hailed the efforts of those in charge of the pavilion.

Seatrade Cruise Med brings together buyers and sellers for two days and is expected to attract more than 26,000 of preregistered guests, more than 160 exhibitors from 60 countries and over 30 companies working in cruise tourism that will put their ideas, products and services on display.

Seatrade Cruise Med coincides with cruise tourism season in numerous areas in the Middle East, including in Arabian Gulf countries.

This season is poised to be the largest ever in Qatar as the number of visitors via cruise ships coming to Qatar are expected to exceed 140,000.

قام سعادة السيد جاسم بن سيف أحمد السليطي وزير المواصلات والاتصالات، برفقة سعادة السيد سعد بن علي المهندي سفير دولة قطر لدى جمهورية البرتغال، بزيارة جناح دولة قطر في معرض سيتريد كروز ميد، الذي انطلقت فعالياته الأربعاء الماضي في العاصمة البرتغالية لشبونة.

وقد اطلع سعادة الوزير والوفد المرافق له على جناح دولة قطر ومحتوياته، حيث تشارك كل من الهيئة العامة للسياحة، والشركة القطرية لإدارة الموانئ «مواني قطر» في المعرض، واستمع سعادته إلى شرح من قبل المعنين في الجناح حول المعرض وأهميته. وأثنى سعادته على جهود العاملين في الجناح.

وتجدر الإشارة إلى أن معرض «سيتريد كروز ميد» يجمع المشترين والبائعين لمدة يومين، وسيستقبل أكثر من 26 ألفاً من الحضور المسجلين مسبقاً، وأكثر من 160 شركة عارضة من 60 دولة، وأكثر من 30 شركة عاملة في مجال سياحة الرحلات البحرية، الذين سيعرضون أفكارهم ومنتجاتهم وخدماتهم.

ويأتي هذا المعرض بالتزامن مع موسم السياحة البحرية في مناطق متعددة في الشرق الأوسط، ومنها منطقة الخليج العربي، وسيكون هذا الموسم هو أكبر مواسم السياحة البحرية في قطر على الإطلاق، حيث سيتجاوز عدد الزوار على متن البواخر السياحية القادمة لقطر 140 ألف زائر.;
