NHRC to organise international meet on peace issues in Tunisia

DOHA: The National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) will organise an international conference on “Issues of Peace” in Tunisia from September 26 to 29. The conference is the first of its kind organized by NHRC in Tunis in cooperation with the Arab Institute for Human Rights, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the NGO-NESCO Liaison committee, QNA reported.
More than 120 organisations, 250 participants and observers, and UNESCO Member States will attend the four-day conference as part of the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and International Day of Peace. Chairman of the National Human Rights Committee, Dr Ali bin Smaikh Al Marri will deliver a speech at the opening session of the Conference on peace issues.
A round-table session on “Peace Today” will be held and chaired by chairperson of the UN International and Regional Panel of Experts to Investigate Human Rights Violations in Yemen’s Kamal Jendoubi, including speeches by some of the participating bodies, including UNESCO and Asfari Institute for Civil Society and Citizenship, another round table will be held under the title “Artificial Intelligence of Robotics and Morals”.
The NHRC will chair the final dialogue between experts and attendees to discuss the recommendations of the program of action for the Conference in its first focus.NHCR Chairman also addresses the second theme of the conference, with the participation of NGO-UNESCO liaison committee, UNESCO and the Arab Institute for Human Rights. In this session, Antonio Panzeri, Chairman of the European Parliament Subcommittee on Human Rights, will speak about the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Head of the Middle East and North Africa Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) Mohamed El Nsour will lead the first roundtable on the major challenges facing human rights today and thinking about inequality.
The second round table will deal with as issue on working to promote inclusion, equality and non-discrimination for all human beings and discusses universal rights, shared responsibility and education on human rights as an instrument against discrimination, as well as issues of equality, justice and freedom.
The third round table will deal with action for Equality and non-discrimination and discuss issues of information technology, new communication tools and topics related to arts, culture and education and it is chaired by President of the Arab Network of National Human Rights Institutions Fafa Zerrougui, while the Secretary-General of the Union of Arab Lawyers Nasser Hamoud Al Karaouine will chair over the general conclusions session and concluded the conference.
On the sidelines of the conference, UNESCO will hold its 9th International NGO Forum entitled “Another Look at Migration”. The UNESCO biennial conference is one of the most important mechanisms of the organization in the context of consultations on the preparation of the med-term strategy, where non-governmental organizations share their views and proposals to formulate written recommendations on the priorities and program of the organization.
NHRC’s participation is part of its strategy and partnerships with regional and international organizations to promote the principles of peace, tolerance, renunciation of violence and extremism and human rights education. The Committee has a strong partnership with UNESCO as well as in light of the MOU signed between NHRC and the Tunis-based Arab Institute for Human Rights, winner of the UNESCO Prize for the Promotion of a Culture of Human Rights.
تنظم اللجنة الوطنية لحقوق الإنسان مؤتمرا دوليا بتونس حول “قضايا السلام”، خلال الفترة من 26 إلى 29 سبتمبر الجاري.
ويعد هذا المؤتمر الأول من نوعه الذي تنظمه اللجنة بتونس بالتعاون مع المعهد العربي لحقوق الإنسان، ومنظمة الأمم المتحدة للتربية والعلم والثقافة (اليونسكو) ولجنة اتصال المنظمات غير الحكومية التابعة لليونسكو.
يحضر المؤتمر أكثر من 120 منظمة و250 مشاركا ومراقبا، والدول الأعضاء في اليونسكو، وذلك في إطار الاحتفال بالذكرى السبعين للإعلان العالمي لحقوق الإنسان ، واليوم العالمي للسلام ، وتستمر أعماله على مدار أربعة أيام ، علما أن المؤتمر يتضمن محورين: الأول بعنوان ” الطائرات بدون طيار والروبوتات في خدمة السلام” ، والثاني عنوانه “العمل من أجل المساواة”.
ويلقي سعادة الدكتور علي بن صميخ المري رئيس اللجنة الوطنية لحقوق الإنسان كلمة في الجلسة الافتتاحية لمؤتمر قضايا السلام ، في محوره الأول ، والذي تعقد في إطاره مائدة مستديرة حول موضوع ” السلام اليوم” ويترأسها السيد كمال الجندوبي ، رئيس فريق الخبراء الدوليين والإقليميين للأمم المتحدة للتحقيق في انتهاكات حقوق الإنسان في اليمن، حيث تتخللها مداخلات لبعض الجهات المشاركة منها منظمة اليونسكو ومعهد “الأصفري” للمجتمع المدني والمواطنة ، كما تعقد مائدة مستديرة أخرى ضمن هذا المحور عنوانها ” الذكاء الاصطناعي للروبوتات وفلسفة الأخلاق” ، فيما تترأس اللجنة الوطنية لحقوق الإنسان الحوار الختامي بين الخبراء والحضور لمناقشة توصيات برنامج العمل للمؤتمر في محوره الأول.
ويلقي رئيس اللجنة الوطنية لحقوق الإنسان كذلك كلمة في المحور الثاني للمؤتمر، بمشاركة لجنة اتصال المنظمات غير الحكومية التابعة لليونسكو، ومنظمة اليونسكو والمعهد العربي لحقوق الإنسان ، ويتحدث في هذا المحور السيد انطونيو بنزيري ، رئيس اللجنة الفرعية بالبرلمان الأوروبي في مداخلة بعنوان ” بعد مرور 70 عامًا على نشأة الإعلان العالمي لحقوق الإنسان، أين نحن من تكريس القيم والحقوق العالمية التي يتضمنها.. وأين نحن من مقامة عدم المساواة؟” ، في حين يترأس السيد محمد النسور ، رئيس مكتب منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا بالمفوضية السامية لحقوق الإنسان بالأمم المتحدة ، المائدة المستديرة الأولى ضمن هذا المحور وعنوانها ” التحديات الكبرى التي تواجه إعمال حقوق الإنسان اليوم: التفكير في عدم المساواة”.
وتعقد المائدة المستديرة الثانية لهذا المحور تحت عنوان “العمل على دعم الإدماج والمساواة وعدم التمييز لجميع البشر” ، وتناقش الحقوق الشمولية والمسؤولية المشتركة والتربية على حقوق الإنسان كأداة ضد التمييز، إلى جانب مواضيع تعنى بالمساواة والعدالة والحرية ضمان ضد العنف، والحفاظ على السلام.
وتناقش المائدة المستديرة الثالثة بعنوان “العمل من أجل المساواة وعدم التمييز: الأدوات والآفاق” قضايا الإعلام وتكنولوجيا المعلومات ، وأدوات الاتصال الجديدة ومواضيع تتعلق بالفنون والثقافة والتعليم ، وتترأسها السيدة ففا بن زروقي، رئيسة الشبكة العربية للمؤسسات الوطنية لحقوق الإنسان. فيما يترأس السيد ناصر حمود الكريوين ، الأمين العام لاتحاد المحامين العرب جلسة الاستنتاجات العامة واختتام المؤتمر.
وتعقد منظمة اليونسكو على هامش المؤتمر، المنتدى الدولي التاسع للمنظمات غير الحكومية الشريكة لها تحت عنوان “نظرة أخرى حول الهجرة”.
ويعتبر مؤتمر اليونسكو الذي يعقد كل عامين ، إحدى أهم آليات المنظمة في إطار المشاورات التي تجرى من أجل إعداد الاستراتيجية المتوسطة الأجل، حيث تشارك المنظمات غير الحكومية بآرائها ومقترحاتها، لصياغة توصيات مكتوبة بشأن أولويات المنظمة وبرنامجها.
وتأتي مشاركة اللجنة الوطنية لحقوق الإنسان وتنظيمها لمؤتمر قضايا السلام، ضمن استراتيجيتها وشراكاتها مع المنظمات الإقليمية والدولية لنشر مبادئ السلام والتسامح ونبذ العنف والتطرّف، والتربية على حقوق الانسان، علما أن اللجنة تربطها شراكة قوية مع منظمة اليونسكو، وأيضا في إطار مذكرة التفاهم المبرمة بين اللجنة الوطنية لحقوق الإنسان والمعهد العربي لحقوق الانسان ومقره تونس، الحائز على جائزة اليونسكو للتربية على حقوق الانسان.
