Qatar presses world to back Palestinian cause

DOHA: The State of Qatar has warned of the continued deterioration of the humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip and the continuing Israeli aggression against the defenceless Palestinian people, that demand their basic national rights and the lifting of the unjust siege imposed on the Gaza Strip.

In a statement released yesterday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the international community to put an end to this humanitarian disaster, warning of the silence of the international community and the lack of action towards the possibility of the situation explosion in Gaza.

The statement reiterated Qatar’s firm position on the historic rights of the Palestinian people in an independent state with Al Quds Al Sharif as its capital and the right of the refugees to return to their areas, stressing that ignoring these constants is a violation of the international law. The statement also stressed the Qatari diplomacy will spare no effort in working to lift the unjust siege imposed on Gaza.

The statement noted in addition to Qatar’s active and direct contribution to the reconstruction of the Strip and its contributions through international institutions such as the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), Qatari diplomacy is working hard through public efforts coordinated by the Chairman of Qatar National Committee for the Reconstruction of Gaza Ambassador, H E Mohammed Al Emadi.

The primary goal of the Qatari efforts is to lift the injustice on the Palestinian people and to support them, which requires contacts and meetings with all parties, the statement said, pointing that the State of Qatar has nothing to hide in this regard, especially when humanitarian mediation is taking place.

The statement further stressed Qatar’s firm stance on the Israeli occupation and the historic rights of the Palestinian people, which were approved by UN resolutions, is neither doubtable nor questionable, as Qatar’s mediation is consensual and the Palestinian side has always expressed its appreciation for the positions of the State of Qatar.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasised that the historical, legal and humanitarian rights of the Palestinian people should not be compromised and that no party has the right to waive them under any pretext.

حذرت دولة قطر من استمرار تفاقم الوضع الإنساني في قطاع غزة، واعتداءات قوات الاحتلال الإسرائيلي المتواصلة على الشعب الفلسطيني الأعزل، والذي يطالب بحقوقه الوطنية الأساسية ورفع الحصار الجائر المفروض على القطاع.

وناشدت وزارة الخارجية القطرية، في بيان لها أمس، القوى الفاعلة في المجتمع الدولي لوضع حد لهذه الكارثة الإنسانية، محذرة من صمت المجتمع الدولي وعدم الفعل إزاء احتمال تفجر الوضع في القطاع.

وشدد البيان على موقف دولة قطر الثابت من حقوق الشعب الفلسطيني التاريخية في دولة مستقلة، تكون عاصمتها القدس الشريف، وحق اللاجئين في العودة إلى مناطقهم، وأن كل خروج عن هذه الثوابت هو خروج على القانون الدولي.. مؤكداً أن الدبلوماسية القطرية لن تألو جهداً في العمل على رفع الحصار الجائر المضروب على غزة.

ونوه بأنه إضافة إلى مساهمة دولة قطر الفعّالة والمباشرة لإعادة الإعمار في القطاع، وإسهاماتها من خلال المؤسسات الدولية مثل «الأونروا»، فإن الدبلوماسية القطرية تعمل بجد من خلال جهود معلنة ينسقها رئيس لجنة الإعمار في غزة سعادة السفير محمد العمادي.. مبيناً أن هدف المساعي القطرية الأول والأساسي هو رفع الظلم عن أبناء الشعب الفلسطيني والوقوف إلى جانبه، وهو ما يتطلب اتصالات ولقاءات مع جميع الأطراف، وليس لدى دولة قطر ما تخفيه في هذا الصدد، لا سيما حين يجري التوسط لأغراض إنسانية.

وأكد البيان أن موقف دولة قطر الثابت من الاحتلال الإسرائيلي ومن حقوق الشعب الفلسطيني التاريخية، والتي أقرتها قرارات الأمم المتحدة، ليس مجالاً للتكهنات ولا لتشكيك المرجفين، إذ إن وساطة قطر تتم بتراضي وطلب الجانب الفلسطيني الذي أكد دائماً على تقديره لمواقف دولة قطر.

وشددت وزارة الخارجية، في بيانها، على أن حقوق الشعب الفلسطيني التاريخية والقانونية والإنسانية ليست مجالاً للمساومة، وأنه ليس من حق أي طرف من الأطراف التنازل عنها تحت أي حجة أو ذريعة.;
