4,513 abandoned vehicles removed from April until August

The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) has carried out a comprehensive campaign to remove abandoned vehicles around the country.

A total of 4,513 abandoned vehicles have been removed from April until August, according to an MME official.

The initiative, implemented by the MME’s committee for removing abandoned vehicles, covered main roads, lanes, parking lots as well as areas adjacent to garages. The vehicles were removed after the municipalities concerned completed the necessary legal procedures.

The campaign comes within the framework of efforts undertaken by the the ministry to preserve the aesthetic and civil appearance of places around Qatar, the MME has said in a press statement.

Saleh Hassan al-Kuwari, vice-chairman of the committee, said the panel is continuing with its inspection campaign across all municipalities in the country with the aim of curbing the practice of abandoning cars and other vehicles. He said 4,513 abandoned vehicles have been removed from April until August.

Al-Kuwari called on all entities concerned in the country to co-operate with the committee to end the ‘abandoned vehicles’ phenomenon as soon as possible and also asked owners to avoid abandoning their vehicles on open grounds, roads, streets, etc.

Meanwhile, Al Daayen Municipality, represented by the general supervision department and in co-operation with the mechanical equipment department, has started implementing a campaign to lift heavy machinery and equipment within the jurisdiction of the municipality.

نفذت وزارة البلدية والبيئة، ممثلة في لجنة إزالة السيارات المهملة، حملة شاملة لإزالة السيارات والآليات والمعدات المهملة، وجميع المظاهر العشوائية بالشوارع الرئيسية أو الفرعية، والمواقف الخارجية أمام الكراجات، وذلك بعد اتخاذ الإجراءات القانونية المتبعة من قبل البلديات المعنية. وتأتي الحملة في إطار الاهتمام الكبير الذي توليه الوزارة للحفاظ على المظهر الجمالي والحضاري للدولة.

وقال السيد صالح حسن الكواري -نائب رئيس لجنة إزالة السيارات المهملة- إن اللجنة تواصل حملتها التفتيشية داخل الحدود الإدارية لجميع البلديات، من أجل تحقيق الهدف المنشود، المتمثل في الحد من هذه الظاهرة، وقد تم رفع حوالي 4513 سيارة خلال الفترة من أبريل الماضي حتى أغسطس الحالي.

ودعا الكواري جميع الجهات المختصة بتوفير الدعم والمساندة، إلى تسهيل مهمة اللجنة في التخلص من السيارات المهملة، من أجل الحفاظ على المظهر العام للدولة، كما ناشد أصحاب السيارات والمعدات والآليات بعدم تركها في الميادين والطرق والشوارع والأرصفة والأراضي الفضاء، حتى لا تصبح مهملة، مما يعد مخالفة لأحكام ولوائح القرارات التنفيذية للقانون رقم (18) لسنة 2017.

وطالب الكواري ملاك السيارات المهملة بتعديل أوضاعهم حرصاً على المظهر الجمالي للدولة، وفي حال عدم رغبتهم في ذلك سيتم شطبها والتخلص منها وترحيلها إلى أماكن الحجز المقررة (شبك المشاف) وفقاً للقانون، منوهاً بأنه في حال رغبة ملاك السيارات والآليات والمعدات باسترجاعها، عليهم مراجعة الإدارة المختصة بالبلدية.

وأهابت لجنة إزالة السيارات المهملة، بالجمهور الكريم التعاون والإبلاغ عن أي سيارات مهملة على رقم الخط الساخن (184).

من ناحية أخرى، بدأت بلدية الظعاين، ممثلة في قسم الرقابة العامة، وبالتعاون مع إدارة الأعتدة الميكانيكية، تنفيذ حملة لرفع الآليات والمعدات الثقيلة في المناطق الإدارية التابعة للبلدية.;
