Panel begins selecting women candidates for military officers
بدء اختيار خريجات الثانوية للعمل في القوات المسلحة
The Standing Committee for the Selection of Candidates for Military Officers has started its work by forming a women’s committee to interview female nominees from among the secondary school graduates of the current and last year, following the directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, Commander-in-Chief of the Qatari Armed Forces.
This was announced in a statement by the Directorate of Defence Communication at the Ministry of Defence yesterday.
The process is sponsored and followed up by HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah, who has given instructions to remove any difficulties faced by the candidates.
HE the Chief of Staff of the Qatari Armed Forces Major General (Pilot) Ghanim bin Shaheen al-Ghanim is supervising the permanent unified committee for selecting nominees for military entities.
The committee will select the best candidates for scientific disciplines such as engineering, communications, computer engineering, medicine, aviation engineering besides others.
Staff Brigadier General Nasser Abdulrahman al-Jaber, chairman of the work team of the committee, said the successful candidates will be doing technical jobs and not pure field jobs.
He stressed that the Armed Forces, like all the other institutions in the country, are interested in supporting Qatari women and providing them with the suitable work environment. He also wished the candidates further success and progress in serving the country.
بتوجيهات من حضرة صاحب السمو الشيخ تميم بن حمد آل ثاني أمير البلاد المفدى القائد الأعلى للقوات المسلحة القطرية بفتح باب الترشيح لخريجي الثانوية العامة للعام الحالي والسابق فئة (بنات) وذلك برعاية ومتابعة سعادة الدكتور خالد بن محمد العطية نائب رئيس مجلس الوزراء وزير الدولة لشؤون الدفاع بتذليل جميع الصعوبات وبإشراف سعادة الفريق الركن (طيار) غانم بن شاهين الغانم رئيس أركان القوات المسلحة القطرية، بدأت اللجنة الدائمة الموحدة لاختيار مرشحي ضباط الجهات العسكرية أعمالها بتشكيل لجنة نسائية لمقابلة المتقدمات للجنة من خريجات الثانوية العامة واختيار الأفضل منهن لترشيحهن لتخصصات علمية كهندسة الاتصالات وهندسة الكمبيوتر والطب وهندسة الطيران وغيرها من التخصصات المتاحة.
وأكد العميد الركن ناصر عبدالرحمن الجابر رئيس فريق عمل اللجنة الدائمة الموحدة لاختيار مرشحي ضباط الجهات العسكرية والمكلف من رئيس الأركان بمتابعة سير عمل اللجنة بأن التخصصات التي ستشغلها المرشحة هي تخصصات علمية تتفق مع طبيعة المرأة القطرية وليست ميدانية بحتة ، مضيفاً أن القوات المسلحة القطرية كباقي مؤسسات الدولة تهتم بدعم المرأة القطرية وتوفر بيئة عمل تناسبها متمنياً لجميع المتقدمات التوفيق والنجاح في خدمة وطنهن الغالي.
