Joint committee to follow up on jobs for 10,000 Jordanians

Qatar and Jordan have agreed to form a joint committee to follow up on the implementation of the directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani to provide 10,000 job opportunities for Jordanian youth in Qatar.

HE the Minister of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs, Dr. Issa bin Saad al- Jafali al-Nuaimi, announced this decision on Tuesday at a joint press conference with Jordan’s Minister of Labour, Sameer Saeed Murad.

The joint committee will provide a database to facilitate the process for private and public entities in Qatar to choose a candidate who meets their needs and wishes to work in Qatar, the minister said.

HE al-Nuaimi said the meeting also touched on the nature of the job opportunities available in Qatar and the different sectors that have the capacity to welcome Jordanian youth who wish to work in Qatar, including health, education, finance, insurance, services, construction, agriculture and animal resources.

The minister said the mission of the committee is to coordinate, follow up and ease the obstacles that jobseekers may face in Jordan and it will also establish a database that will be accessible for business owners to look for suitable candidates.

He expected to provide 1,000 jobs to Jordanian youth by September through the coordination and cooperation of the committee, before intensifying efforts in the following phase to provide other jobs according to the wishes of jobseekers and the needs of employers.

Employment process

HE al-Nuaimi highlighted that the agreed employment process does not involve third parties in order for it to run smoothly.

The Jordanian minister said this kind gesture of Qatar and His Highness the Amir is highly valued and appreciated. He described the relations between both countries as good and fruitful.

Murad said his meeting with HE al-Nuaimi focused on the appropriate steps to implement the directives of the Amir to provide 10,000 jobs for Jordanian youth. He said that the committee would follow up closely and help overcome any obstacles that may arise.

The Jordanian minister said a comprehensive database will be built to include all jobseekers in Jordan in order to make it easier for employers in Qatar to learn about the available specialties and qualifications.

He said job opportunities in Qatar will be in the public and private sectors and cover health, educational, financial, insurance and construction sectors. “We are talking about scientific, specialised, technical and engineering job opportunities,” the minister said, adding that there will be a focus on 2022 World Cup projects.

Murad said both sides were keen on a transparent and clear mechanism between the two ministries for employing the Jordanian youth so that no third party exploited the jobseekers.

In addition, the Jordanian minister said the two ministries of labour will not intervene in the recruitment of employees, with the matter being decided by employers.

Asked about the timeframe for concluding the process of filling the 10,000 jobs, the Jordanian minister said it is not linked to a specific time, but it has been agreed between the two countries to provide at least 1,000 jobs in the next two months, with the remaining ones filled as soon as possible.

The Jordanian minister said the Qatari initiative will have a positive effect on reducing unemployment in Jordan, which stands now at 18.5%, noting that the government is working hard to provide appropriate job opportunities for all Jordanians.

اتفقت دولة قطر والمملكة الأردنية الهاشمية على تشكيل لجنة مشتركة لمتابعة تنفيذ توجيهات حضرة صاحب السمو الشيخ تميم بن حمد آل ثاني أمير البلاد المفدى، بتوفير 10 آلاف فرصة عمل بالدولة للشباب الأردني.

قال سعادة الدكتور عيسى بن سعد الجفالي النعيمي وزير التنمية الإدارية والعمل والشؤون الاجتماعية، في مؤتمر صحافي مشترك مع سعادة السيد سمير سعيد مراد وزير العمل الأردني عقب اجتماعهما بالدوحة أمس: «بناء على التوجيهات السامية لحضرة صاحب السمو الشيخ تميم بن حمد آل ثاني بتوفير 10 آلاف فرصة عمل للشباب الأردني، تم الاتفاق على تشكيل لجنة مشتركة من الوزارتين لتتولى متابعة تنفيذ التوجيهات، إلى جانب توفير قاعدة بيانات للتسهيل على الجهات المعنية بدولة قطر في القطاعين الحكومي والخاص واختيار ما يلبي احتياجاتها من الشباب الأردني الراغب في العمل بالدولة».

وأشار سعادته إلى أن الوظائف التي ستوفرها قطر للإخوة الأردنيين ستكون في المجالين الحكومي والخاص وفى عدد كبير من التخصصات المختلفة على رأسها القطاعين الصحي والتعليمي والمالي والمصرفي وقطاع الخدمات، وكذلك قطاع الإنشاءات بتخصصاته المختلفة، مضيفاً أن الاجتماعات مع سعادة وزير العمل الأردني السيد سمير مراد كانت مكثفة عرضنا خلالها فرص العمل المتاحة واتفقنا على تشكيل اللجنة التي ستقوم بالتنسيق والمتابعة من كل الطرفين لتذليل الصعوبات أمام كافة الباحثين عن عمل من أبناء المملكة الأردنية الشقيقة، ونتوقع أن يتم الانتهاء من توفير 1000 فرصة عمل بعد أسابيع قليلة.

وتابع سعادته: «سيتم إنهاء إجراءات التأشيرات وغيرها، ويتسلم المواطنون الأردنيون عملهم في دولة قطر خلال شهر سبتمبر المقبل، وبعدها سيتم تكثيف الجهود من أجل توفير التسعة آلاف فرصة عمل الباقية».

وقال سعادته في تصريحات صحافية على هامش المؤتمر إنه تم الاتفاق عقب مباحثات جرت مع معالي وزير العمل الأردني على إنشاء لجنة مشتركة من وزارة التنمية الإدارية والعمل والشؤون الاجتماعية بدولة قطر ووزارة العمل بالمملكة الأردنية الهاشمية، لمتابعة تنفيذ عملية التوظيف، وكذلك وضع قاعدة بيانات تتضمن التخصصات الموجودة، للراغبين في العمل بدولة قطر من المملكة الأردنية، وكذلك التنسيق مع القطاع الخاص والقطاع الحكومي بالوظائف المطلوبة وتحديد الاحتياجات واختيار الموظفين المطلوب توظيفهم.

لا وسطاء في عملية التوظيف

أكد سعادة وزير التنمية الإدارية والعمل والشؤون الاجتماعية عدم وجود أي وسطاء للدخول في عملية التوظيف.

وأشار إلى أن اللجنة سوف تبسط وتيسر الإجراءات من خلال القنوات التي رسمتها الوزارة مع الجانب الأردني في هذا الشأن، مشيراً إلى أن اتفاقية استقدام العمالة بين قطر والأردن في 2011 ستظل قائمة، ولن يكون فيها أي تعديلات.;
