GAC attends regional meeting of Directors General of Customs

DOHA: Qatar’s General Authority of Customs (GAC) took part in the 48th regional meeting of Directors General of Customs of Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. GAC also participated in the 132nd session of the Customs Cooperation Council. The meeting was held in Brussels on Wednesday and Thursday.

The Chairman of General Authority of Customs, Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Jamal, headed Qatar’s delegation to the meetings, said a release.

The 48th regional meeting of Directors General of Customs on North of Africa, Near and Middle East (MENA) region discussed many issues related to Customs work, mainly the results of the 79th session of the General Policy Committee of the World Customs Organization (WCO), the application of the Arab Union of Customs Executives to join the WCO in addition to the results of the second meeting of the working group on the use of additional languages and the report of the regional activities of the capacity building program.

The 132nd session of the Customs Cooperation Council dealt with the reports of technical committees on rules of origin, Customs valuation, the Harmonized System Committee and tax Customs cooperation, in addition to discussing a study on the use of additional languages in the WCO.

ترأس سعادة السيد أحمد بن عبدالله الجمال رئيس الهيئة العامة للجمارك، الوفد القطري المشارك في الاجتماع الإقليمي 48 للمديرين العامين للجمارك بمنطقة شمال إفريقيا والشرق الأدنى والأوسط، والجلسة 132 لمجلس التعاون الجمركي، واللذان عقدا في مدينة بروكسل خلال الفترة من 27 إلى 28 يونيو الماضي.

وناقش الاجتماع 48 للمديرين العامين للجمارك العديد من المواضيع المتعلقة بالعمل الجمركي، على رأسها نتائج أعمال الدورة 79 للجنة السياسة العامة، وطلب جمعية الاتحاد العربي للمخلصين للانضمام لمنظمة الجمارك العالمية، كذلك فقد تم التطرق إلى مناقشة نتائج الاجتماع الثاني لفريق العمل المعني باستخدام لغات إضافية وتقرير الأنشطة الإقليمية لبرنامج بناء القدرات.

اللجان

كما ناقشت الجلسة 132 لمجلس التعاون الجمركي تقارير اللجان الفنية لقواعد المنشأ والتقييم الجمركي ولجنة النظام المنسق والتعاون الجمركي الضريبي، بالإضافة إلى استعراض دراسة حول استخدام لغات إضافية في منظمة الجمارك العالمية، أيضاً شهد الاجتماع عروضاً تقديمية من قبل المرشحين لمنصب الأمين العام، وإجراء انتخاب الأمين العام ورئيس لجنة التدقيق.

تجدر الإشارة بأهمية هذه الاجتماعات في تعزيز التعاون بين جمارك الدول العاملة ضمن إطار منظمة الجمارك العالمية، وبما ينسجم مع معايير المنظمة في جميع المجالات الجمركية.;
