Trump reveals why he supports the use of hydroxychloroquine to treat COVID-19 patients

U.S. President Donald Trump today revealed that he had been using hydroxychloroquine for more than a week as a prevention against the new coronavirus (COVEd-19), a drug that U.S. health authorities have refused to approve as a treatment against corona.
“I seem to be in good shape after taking a daily pill of hydroxychloroquine for about a week and a half,” Trump told reporters from the White House.

The President added that he is conducting regular check-ups, stressing that he is not infected with the coronavirus.
It was Trump’s personal doctor who agreed to use the drug after several White House staff members contracted corona infection in the past two weeks.
U.S. federal health authorities refused to approve the drug as a drug for corona patients after it showed serious side effects, including that it could cause heart abnormalities.

كشف الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترامب، اليوم، عن تعاطيه عقار هيدروكسي كلوروكين منذ أكثر من أسبوع كوقاية من الإصابة بفيروس كورونا المستجد (كوفيد-19)، وهو عقار رفضت السلطات الصحية الأمريكية الموافقة على استخدامه كعلاج ضد /كورونا/.

وقال ترامب، في تصريح للصحفيين من البيت الأبيض، “يبدو أنني بحالة جيدة بعد تناول حبة يوميا من /هيدروكسي كلوروكين/ لنحو أسبوع ونصف”.

وأضاف الرئيس الأمريكي أنه يجري فحوصات دورية، مشددا على أنه غير مصاب بفيروس /كورونا/.

وكان طبيب ترامب الشخصي هو من وافق له على استخدام هذا العقار بعد أن تعرض عدد من موظفي البيت الأبيض للإصابة بعدوى /كورونا/ في الأسبوعين الماضيين.

ورفضت السلطات الصحية الفيدرالية الأمريكية الموافقة على هذا العقار كدواء لمرضى /كورونا/ بعد أن أظهر أعراض جانبية خطيرة، من بينها أنه يمكن أن يسبب تشوهات في القلب.
