Qatar Chamber discusses promoting investments in Ghana
“غرفة قطر” تبحث فرص تعزيز الاستثمار في غانا
Doha: Qatar Chamber (QC) held a meeting with a visiting business delegation from Ghana led by Finance Minister of the Republic of Ghana, Ken Ofori-Atta, to discuss investment opportunities in several sectors including infrastructure, mining, food and tourism.
The Ghana Minister said that his country and Qatar have strong and distinguished relations of friendship. He pointed out that his country’s economy, which is witnessing a rapid development, welcomes all foreign investments, especially Qatari ones, calling on Qatari businessmen to explore the investment opportunities available there.
For his part, Vice-Chairman of Qatar Chamber, pointed to the Qatari private sector’s interest in promoting investment in the African continent for being rich of natural resources, fertile land and minerals. Ghana has great potential for Qatari entrepreneurs to invest in, he added.
In turn, Chief of Ghana’s investment authority R Grant stressed that his government is working to create a sustainable and stable economy that attracts all foreign investments, adding that the private sector in the country welcomes the partnership with its Qatari counterpart, especially with the large number of opportunities in infrastructure, agriculture, tourism, banking, mining, oil and gas, transportation, logistics and other sectors.
عقدت غرفة قطر اجتماعا اليوم مع وفد تجاري غاني يزور الدوحة حاليا برئاسة سعادة السيد كينيث اوفوري اتاه وزير المالية بجمهورية غانا، حيث بحث الجانبان فرص الاستثمار في قطاعات منها البنية التحتية والتعدين والأغذية والسياحة.
وقال سعادة وزير المالية الغاني، إن بلاده ودولة قطر تربطهما علاقات صداقة قوية ومتميزة، مشيرا إلى أن اقتصاد بلاده الذي يشهد تطورا ملحوظا وسريعا يرحب بكافة الاستثمارات الأجنبية، وخاصة القطرية منها، داعيا أصحاب الأعمال القطريين إلى التعرف على الفرص الاستثمارية المتاحة هناك.
بدوره، أشار السيد محمد بن أحمد بن طوار نائب رئيس غرفة قطر، إلى اهتمام القطاع الخاص القطري بتعزيز الاستثمار في القارة الإفريقية لما تتمتع به من موارد طبيعية وأرض خصبة ومعادن، مشيراً إلى أن غانا لديها إمكانيات كبيرة يمكن لأصحاب الأعمال القطريين الاستثمار فيها.
بدروه، أكد السيد ريجينات هاري جرانت رئيس هيئة الاستثمار بغانا أن الحكومة الغانية تعمل على خلق اقتصاد مستدام ومستقر يجذب كافة الاستثمارات الأجنبية، معربا عن ترحيب القطاع الخاص في غانا بالشراكة مع نظيره القطري، خاصة مع وجود عدد كبير من الفرص في مجالات البنية التحتية والزراعة والسياحة والبنوك والتعدين والنفط والغاز والنقل والخدمات اللوجستية وغيرها.
