MME reveals plan to maintain hygiene during Ramadan

DOHA: The Ministry of Municipality and Environment has announced a plan for hygiene during the holy month of Ramadan, focusing on the main sites, commercial streets, entertainment areas, Corniche area, the central market, and the slaughterhouses.

The Ministry noted that paying particular attention to the holy month of Ramadan, has developed special plans and programs that take into consideration all the environmental and social changes and expected obstacles such as the temporary closures of some streets, traffic congestion and dumping of personal waste in the streets and public squares, due lack of commitment by some.

Chairman of the Committee for Special Plan and Director of General Cleanliness Department at the Ministry, Safar Mubarak Al Shafi, revealed the preparations on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, pointing out that increasing the quantity of waste requires double effort by providing large numbers of containers, and regulating service vehicles work.

Al Shafi added that the focus and attention will be placed on the main sites, commercial streets, entertainment and Corniche area, in addition to the central market and the slaughterhouse, because of the large amounts of waste, which require sufficient containers to be prepared and put up first.

He added that there will be communication and coordination with the competent authorities to provide containers in all regions of the country and waste will be lifted daily by the Ministry throughout the holy month, stressing the need to adhere to the use of garbage bags and throwing waste in the allocated containers.

He pointed out that the daily programs of cleaning services are not affected by the special programs of Ramadan but are in accordance with the plans set for these services, which run regularly and round the clock, taking into account the religious aspects and worship rights of workers and Muslim drivers, as work stops during the period of Iftar until the completion of Tarawih prayers, and the Ministry is working hard to allocate working hours for Muslim workers in the evening to avoid field work during the day.

أعلنت إدارة النظافة العامة بوزارة البلدية والبيئة استعداداتها لشهر رمضان الكريم بتوفير أعداد كبيرة من الحاويات وتنظيم عمل سيارات النظافة على مدار الساعة.

وتولي الوزارة اهتماماً خاصاً بالشهر الفضيل بسبب الطبيعة الاستهلاكية للمواطنين والمقيمين، حيث تزداد كمية ونوعية المخلفات الغذائية من غيرها عن بقية أيام السنة بنسبة تصل إلى 30 %، حيث سيتم وضع خطط وبرامج خاصة لهذا الشهر الكريم تأخذ في الاعتبار كل المتغيرات البيئية والاجتماعية والعوائق المتوقعة، مثل الإغلاقات المؤقتة لبعض الشوارع والزحام المروري وسلوك بعض الأفراد المتمثل في رمي المخلفات الشخصية في الشوارع والميادين العامة، بالإضافة إلى عدم التزام البعض في إخراج المخلفات في الأوقات المحددة لمرور سيارات الخدمة حسب كل منطقة.

وكشف السيد سفر مبارك آل شافي، مدير إدارة النظافة العامة عن الاستعدادات الكبيرة التي تم إعدادها بمناسبة حلول شهر رمضان الكريم. وأشار إلى أن زيادة كمية المخلفات بشكل كبير يتطلب جهداً مضاعفاً وتوفير أعداد كبيرة من الحاويات وتنظيم عمل سيارات الخدمة على مدار الساعة. وأوضح أنه سيتم التركيز والاهتمام المواقع الرئيسية والشوارع التجارية وأماكن الترفيه ومنطقة الكورنيش والسوق المركزي والمقصب الآلي والخيم والموائد الرمضانية، لافتاً إلى أنه سيتم التواصل والتنسيق مع هذه الجهات لتوفير الحاويات في جميع مناطق الدولة والعمل على رفعها يومياً.;
