وزارة الاقتصاد تغلق محلا للمجوهرات لمدة أسبوعين
DOHA: The Ministry of Economy and Commerce has announced the two-week closure of a jewellery shop, located at Hyatt Plaza Mall, for displaying and selling counterfeit international gold jewellery brands.
The inspection campaign comes within the framework of the Ministry’s efforts to monitor markets and commercial activities in order to crack down on violations, price manipulation and counterfeit and substandard products.
The shop was fined and closed for a two-week period in line with article (7) of law number (8) of 2008. Article 7 compels suppliers to clearly display on the product’s package or label the type and nature of the item as well as other relevant data in line with the law’s implementing regulations. The law also prohibits the display of fraudulent descriptions, advertisements and misleading statements. The administrative closure declaration shall be published at the expense of the company that committed the violation in accordance with Article (18) of Law No. (8) on Consumer Protection. The law stipulates that the closure decision shall be published on the Ministry’s website and in two daily newspapers at the expense of the company.
The Ministry said it will refer those who violate laws and ministerial decrees to competent authorities, who will in turn take appropriate action against perpetrators in order to protect consumer rights.
أغلقت وزارة الاقتصاد والتجارة محلا للمجوهرات في أحد المولات التجارية (حياة بلازا) لمدة أسبوعين، إثر قيامه بعرض وبيع مصوغات ذهب مقلدة على ماركات تجارية عالمية، الأمر الذي يعد مخالفا لقانون حماية المستهلك.
وأوضحت الوزارة، في بيان لها، أن إغلاق المحل جاء في إطار الحملات التفتيشية المكثفة التي تنفذ لمراقبة الأسواق والأنشطة التجارية بالدولة بهدف ضبط الأسعار والكشف عن التجاوزات والسلع المغشوشة والمقلدة وغير المطابقة للمواصفات القياسية، حيث تم تحرير مخالفة ضد المحل وتكليفه بنشر إعلان الإغلاق الإداري على نفقته.
وأكدت الوزارة أنها ستكون حازمة في وجه كل من يتهاون في القيام بالتزاماته بقانون حماية المستهلك ولائحته التنفيذية، وستكثف حملاتها التفتيشية لضبط مثل هذه الممارسات، وستحيل كل من يخالف القوانين والقرارات الوزارية المنظمة للعمل إلى الجهات المختصة لاتخاذ الإجراءات المناسبة ضده وذلك حماية لحقوق المستهلكين.
وحثت وزارة الاقتصاد والتجارة جميع المستهلكين على الإبلاغ عن أي تجاوزات أو مخالفات، وذلك من خلال القنوات التواصلية لإدارة حماية المستهلك ومكافحة الغش التجاري.
