مجلس قطر للمباني الخضراء يطلق حملة “يوم بلا ورق” لعام 2018
DOHA: Qatar Green Building Council (QGBC), a member of Qatar Foundation (QF), has opened registration for organizations in Qatar who wish to take part in its annual ‘No Paper Day Qatar’.
The initiative, now in its sixth year, is part of QGBC’s ongoing efforts to help schools, companies, and institutions find ways to reduce paper consumption, engage the wider community in environmentally-friendly practices, and raise sustainability awareness.
Engineer Meshal Al Shamari, Director, QGBC, said: “We are delighted with the success of this campaign over the past few years. It has encouraged companies and individuals to reduce their recyclable waste and celebrate Qatar’s efforts to build a more sustainable future.
“We look forward to the continuing participation of our existing partners and to bringing new partners on board for this exciting and important work supporting the environmental and social pillars of Qatar National Vision 2030.”
As in previous years, companies and individuals taking part in ‘No Paper Day Qatar’ are encouraged to start saving and collecting recyclable waste in the form of newspapers and magazines, office paper, cardboard, plastic bottles, plastic cups and jugs, and aluminium and steel cans.
All collected recyclable waste should be dropped off at the QGBC Villa on April 8, 9, and 10. Participating companies will be invited to attend an appreciation event to celebrate the success of the campaign and will also receive QGBC-led sustainability training sessions at their premises.
أطلق مجلس قطر للمباني الخضراء، عضو مؤسسة قطر، حملة “يوم بلا ورق” للعام السادس على التوالي، حيث أعلن عن فتح باب التسجيل أمام المؤسسات في قطر للمشاركة في هذه المبادرة المتميزة.
وتأتي هذه المبادرة في إطار الجهود المستمرة التي يبذلها مجلس قطر للمباني الخضراء لإشراك المجتمع في الممارسات الصديقة للبيئة، وزيادة الوعي بأهمية الاستدامة. ويُمكن للشركات التي تقوم بالتسجيل الاستفادة من “دورات التدريب على الاستدامة” التي سيقدمها المجلس.
وبهذه المناسبة، قال المهندس مشعل الشمري، مدير مجلس قطر للمباني الخضراء: “نحن سعداء بنجاح هذه الحملة على مدى السنوات الماضية؛ فقد ساهمت في تحفيز الشركات والأفراد على تقليل النفايات القابلة لإعادة التدوير وتعزيز الجهود التي تبذلها دولة قطر لبناء مستقبل أكثر استدامة. ونحن نتطلع إلى مشاركة مستمرة من شركائنا الحاليين، ومساهمة شركاء جدد في هذا العمل القيّم الذي يدعم الركيزة البيئية والاجتماعية لرؤية قطر الوطنية 2030.”
وكان مجلس قطر للمباني الخضراء قد أطلق مبادرة “يوم بلا ورق” في عام 2012 بهدف مساعدة المؤسسات في قطر، سواء كانت مدارس أو شركات أو مؤسسات، للحد من استهلاك الورق والمساهمة في تحقيق مستقبل مستدام. وعلى غرار السنوات السابقة، يتم تشجيع الشركات والأفراد الآن على البدء في توفير النفايات القابلة لإعادة التدوير، وجمعها، وإرسالها إلى مقر مجلس قطر للمباني الخضراء في الثامن والتاسع والعاشر من شهر أبريل. وتشتمل هذه النفايات على الصحف والمجلات وورق المكاتب والكرتون والزجاجات البلاستيكية والأكواب البلاستيكية والأباريق والألومنيوم والعلب المعدنية.
