MoPH Prepares National System for Registration of Occupational, Work-Related Injuries, Diseases

Doha: The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), in collaboration with strategic partners, is working on preparing a national system for registering all occupational and work-related injuries and diseases to achieve one of the main priority outputs (Healthy and Safe Employees) of the National Health Strategy as well as the Occupational Health Project, one of the Public Health Strategy projects.

The national system aims to identify all data of occupational injuries and diseases and work-related illnesses, including the causes of injuries, to reduce them through the development of awareness programs or the preparation of laws and guidelines that limit such injuries in workplaces.

In this context, the MoPH has recently organized a workshop to discuss and identify basic data for occupational and work-related injuries and diseases, at the Itqan Clinical Simulation and Innovation Center.

The workshop was attended by more than 50 occupational health and safety specialists in government, semi-government, and private entities, including the MoPH, the Ministry of Labor, Hamad Medical Corporation and the Primary Healthcare Corporation, Qatar Energy, the Public Works Authority (Ashghal), Qatar Red Crescent, the International Labor Organization, Weill Cornell College of Medicine, and some private companies.
The workshop highlighted the most important fundamental data sets to be entered by the concerned authorities in the system for reporting occupational and work-related injuries and diseases. The workshop further reviewed the occupational health and safety definitions as per the Qatari Labor Law and the International Labor Organization.

الدوحة: كشفت وزارة الصحة العامة عن إعدادها نظاما وطنيا لتسجيل جميع الإصابات والأمراض المهنية والأمراض المتعلقة بالعمل.

ويأتي النظام الذي يتم إعداده بالتعاون مع شركاء وزارة الصحة تحقيقا لأحد مخرجات أولوية (عاملون بصحة وأمان) ضمن الاستراتيجية الوطنية للصحة، ومشروع الصحة المهنية أحد مشاريع استراتيجية الصحة العامة.

ويستهدف النظام الوطني تحديد جميع بيانات الإصابات والأمراض المهنية والأمراض المرتبطة بالعمل، والتي من ضمنها أسباب الإصابات، والعمل على تقليلها من خلال وضع برامج توعوية، أو إعداد لوائح استرشادية وقوانين تحد من تلك الإصابات في أماكن العمل.

وفي هذا الإطار نظمت وزارة الصحة العامة مؤخرا ورشة عمل لمناقشة وتحديد البيانات الأساسية للإصابات والأمراض المهنية والأمراض المتعلقة بالعمل، وذلك بمركز المحاكاة الطبية والابتكار (إتقان).

شارك في الورشة أكثر من 50 عاملا في مجال الصحة والسلامة المهنية بعدد من الجهات الحكومية وشبه الحكومية والخاصة، ومنها: وزارة الصحة العامة، ووزارة العمل، إلى جانب حمد الطبية، والرعاية الصحية الأولية، وقطر للطاقة، وهيئة الأشغال العامة، والهلال الأحمر القطري، ومنظمة العمل الدولية، وكلية وايل كورنيل للطب، وبعض الشركات الخاصة.

ناقشت ورشة العمل أهم البيانات الأساسية في نظام التبليغ عن الإصابات والأمراض المهنية والأمراض المرتبطة بالعمل، والتي سوف يتم إدخالها من قبل الجهات المعنية، كما تم خلال الورشة استعراض التعريفات المتعلقة بالصحة والسلامة المهنية المعتمدة وفق قانون العمل القطري، ومنظمة العمل الدولية.
