HMC Discusses Latest Researches in Stem Cells Transplantation for Blood Cancers

Doha: The first Qatar Stem ss Transplantation Conference highlighted the importance of stem cells researches in advancing medicine and improving patient outcomes, especially in the treatment of blood cancers.

The conference, organized by Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), showed Qatar’s commitment to becoming a leader in this important field, and represented an important step forward in the field of stem cells transplantation in the Middle East.

The event saw the participation of 13 regional and international experts, including a number of renowned scientists, doctors and researchers from around the world, who came to exchange information and experiences in the field of stem cells transplantation, in addition to the attendance of more than 300 doctors and specialists in the field.

The conference activities included a series of plenary sessions; panel discussions and workshops, all of which discussed topics related to the use of hematopoietic stem cells (autologous and allogeneic) in the treatment of malignant blood cancers and the latest developments in the field of stem cells transplantation, and research ethics in stem cells researches.

A number of doctors and pharmacists from HMC’s National Center for Cancer Care and Research made presentations on their experience in the field of autologous and allogeneic hematopoietic stem cells transplantation for the treatment of malignant blood cancers.

وأظهر المؤتمر الذي نظمته مؤسسة حمد الطبية التزام دولة قطر بأن تصبح رائدة في هذا المجال المهم، كما مثل خطوة مهمة للأمام في مجال زراعة الخلايا الجذعية واستخداماتها في مجال الطب بالشرق الأوسط.

وقد شهد الحدث مشاركة 13 خبيرا إقليميا ودوليا كمحاضرين من بينهم عدد من أبرز العلماء والأطباء والباحثين من مختلف أنحاء العالم لتبادل المعلومات والخبرات في مجال زراعة الخلايا الجذعية إلى جانب حضور أكثر من 300 مشارك من أطباء ومتخصصين في المجال.

وتضمنت فعاليات المؤتمر عقد مجموعة من الجلسات بما في ذلك جلسات عامة وحلقات نقاشية وورش عمل ناقشت في مجملها مواضيع تتعلق باستخدام كل من الخلايا الجذعية المكونة للدم (الذاتية والخيفية) في علاج سرطانات الدم الخبيثة، وأحدث التطورات في مجال زراعة الخلايا الجذعية، والأخلاقيات البحثية في مجال أبحاث الخلايا الجذعية.

واستعرض المشاركون أيضا مسائل ذات صلة بزراعة الخلايا الجذعية الأحادية لعلاج أورام الدم الخبيثة وزراعة الخلايا الجذعية المكونة للدم في منطقة شرق البحر الأبيض المتوسط إلى جانب مناقشة زراعة الخلايا الجذعية المكونة للدم لحالات سرطان الدم النقوي الحاد.

كما شارك عدد من الأطباء والصيادلة من المركز الوطني لعلاج وأبحاث السرطان التابع لمؤسسة حمد الطبية في المؤتمر بعروض تقديمية حول تجربتهم في مجال زراعة الخلايا الجذعية المكونة للدم الذاتية والخيفية لعلاج سرطانات الدم الخبيثة.
