PHCC: Over 600 Thousand Patients Received Virtual Consultations in 2022

Doha: Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) said that virtual medical consultation was provided to over 600 thousand patients through 2022 and to over 2.4 million patients since the service was launched during the Covid-19 pandemic.

PHCC affirmed that the success of virtual medical consultation service in its health centers has exceeded expectations, and therefore, it service will continue in order to provide access to high-quality health care, and to re-dispense medicines without physical visit to the health center.

During the year 2022, about 435,000 patients were able to book virtual appointments with their family doctor to obtain general health advice, while other services such as mother and child health, nutrition, health educator, smoking cessation, and even physiotherapy saw a high turnout of patients through virtual medical consultations, PHCC said.

The Executive Director of the Operations Department at PHCC, Dr. Samia Al Abdullah said that after the initial spike in the number of virtual consultations provided to more than one million patients during 2020 as a result of Covid-19, levels of demand for services have largely stabilized in all medical specialties, and the demand for virtual consultations has significantly improved.

PHCC is currently focusing on enhancing the quality of service access to encourage community members to turn to medical consultations via voice and video calls, in a way that ensures the continuity of patient’s access to an effective and safe experience and better health outcomes, Dr. Al Abdullah pointed in press remarks today.

She stressed that patients’ positive feedback, along with improving their access to virtual care, contributed to highlighting the importance of including virtual health services in the health care system in the future, in addition to giving patients the option to obtain face-to-face medical consultation with a doctor across all primary health care services when needed.

الدوحة: أعلنت مؤسسة الرعاية الصحية الأولية عن تقديم خدمة الاستشارات الطبية الافتراضية (عن بعد) لأكثر من 600 ألف مريض في العام الماضي 2022 ولأكثر من 2.4 مليون مريض منذ إطلاق الخدمة خلال جائحة (كوفيد-19).

وأكدت المؤسسة أن خدمة الاستشارات الطبية الافتراضية في المراكز الصحية التابعة لها حققت نجاحا فاق التوقعات ولذلك يتم الاستمرار في تقديم هذه الخدمة لتتيح فرصة الوصول إلى الطبيب المختص والرعاية الصحية عالية الجودة، وإعادة صرف الأدوية دون الحاجة الى التوجه للمركز الصحي.

وقد تمكن ما يصل إلى 435 ألف مريض من حجز المواعيد الافتراضية مع طبيب الأسرة للحصول على المشورة الصحية العامة خلال عام 2022 ، بينما شهدت الخدمات الأخرى مثل صحة الأم والطفل، والتغذية، والمثقف الصحي، والإقلاع عن التدخين، وحتى العلاج الطبيعي، إقبالا عاليا من المرضى عبر الاستشارات الصحية الافتراضية مع أطبائهم.

وقالت الدكتورة سامية العبد الله المدير التنفيذي لإدارة التشغيل في مؤسسة الرعاية الصحية الأولية: إنه بعد الارتفاع الأولي لعدد الاستشارات الافتراضية المقدمة لأكثر من مليون مريض خلال عام 2020 بسبب فيروس كوفيد-19، استقرت مستويات الإقبال على الخدمات إلى حد كبير في جميع التخصصات الطبية، كما لوحظ تحسن في استمرار طلب الاستشارات الافتراضية.

وأشارت العبد الله في تصريح صحفي اليوم، إلى أن مؤسسة الرعاية الأولية تركز حاليا على تحسين جودة الوصول للخدمة لتشجيع أفراد المجتمع على الاقبال على الاستشارات الطبية عبر المكالمات الصوتية، وعلى وجه الخصوص مكالمات الفيديو بشكل يضمن استمرارية حصول المريض على التجربة الفعالة والآمنة وعلى أفضل النتائج الصحية.

وأكدت الدكتورة سامية أن ملاحظات المرضى الإيجابية إلى جانب تحسين وصولهم إلى الرعاية الافتراضية ساهمت في تسليط الضوء على أهمية تضمين الخدمات الصحية الافتراضية في نظام الرعاية الصحية في المستقبل، بالإضافة إلى مواصلة إعطاء المرضى خيار الحصول على الاستشارة الطبية وجها لوجه مع الطبيب عبر جميع خدمات الرعاية الصحية الأولية عند الحاجة.
