Doha: A report issued by Ookla, a global leader in network intelligence and connectivity insights, praised the performance of the mobile phone network and the Internet during the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar, pointing out that the network was not affected by the increasing number of users during the tournament.

وأضاف التقرير أن بطولة كأس العالم التي احتضنتها دولة قطر في الفترة من 20 نوفمبر إلى 18 ديسمبر هي النسخة الأولى التي تم فيها استخدام شبكات الجيل الخامس (5G)، موضحة أن بيئة السوق التنافسية المؤيدة للاستثمار والتي تشرف عليها هيئة تنظيم الاتصالات جنت أرباحها، إلى جانب التزامات ثابتة من كلا المشغلين (شركتي أريدُ، وفودافون – قطر) لطرح شبكات الجيل الخامس في جميع المناطق المكتظة بالسكان، وجميع الأماكن المرتبطة بكأس العالم.

وأشارت /أوكلا/ إلى أنه “في الثالث من ديسمبر الماضي، أي بعد حوالي أسبوعين من انطلاق منافسات بطولة كأس العالم، وبعد خوض 48 مباراة، شهدت بطولة كأس العالم حضورا تراكميا في الملاعب بلغ أكثر من 2.45 مليون شخص، وبالنسبة لدولة يبلغ عدد سكانها حوالي 2.93 مليون نسمة، فإن ضمان وفاء أداء شبكة الهاتف المحمول بالتوقعات أمر ليس باليسير أو السهل”.
