PHCC Underscores Keenness to Help Persons With Disabilities Obtain High-Quality Health Services

Doha: Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) confirmed that it is committed to empowering the persons with disabilities through designing high-level of organized health services that best suit them, in addition to backing them with the essential support based on their health needs.

Assistant Medical Director for Children and Adolescent Services at Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) and National Lead for Healthy Children and Adolescents Strategies Dr. Sadriya Al Kohji said that one of the most essential initiatives of PHCC entails the provision of health services in a conducive environment for persons with disabilities in the health centers, where friendly environments have been provided in the rooms of outpatient departments, dental clinics, family medicine clinic, maternal and child healthcare clinics, child health clinics, Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) clinics, and eye clinics in ten health centers.

PHCC adopted the fast track service for all age groups of persons with disabilities with the objective of facilitating and accelerating the process of obtaining the medical counselling, along with the primary health care services for visitors from the persons with disabilities through health care services in the fast track, and providing the essential support upon visiting the health center by a team from the customer service ‘Hayyak’ and the medical crew, she said.

The fast track service is of utmost importance for PHCC, where the work crew has been trained on the methods of reaching out to the patients with visual impairment, in addition to training work crew from PHCC and Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) on signal language to prepare and enable the medical and administrative crew to reach out to the patients with visual impairment and to effectively deal with them, she added Dr. Sadriya Al Kohji indicated that one of the most essential services offered by PHCC in this framework includes conducting the early detection of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) by local and international experts through various training courses, revealing the EarlyBird, which is a training program dedicated to the guardians of the children diagnosed with ASD, and aims to improve and develop the relations between parents and the child, in addition to facilitating the methods of communication between them and the children diagnosed with ASD, especially in the domestic environment.

PHCC participated in the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) which falls on Dec. 3 each year, and aims to increase the awareness of persons with disabilities.

الدوحة: أكدت مؤسسة الرعاية الصحية الأولية حرصها على تمكين الأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة من خلال تصميم خدمات صحية منظمة وعالية الجودة ومناسبة لهم، مع تزويدهم بالدعم اللازم بناء على احتياجاتهم الصحية.

وقالت الدكتورة صدرية الكوهجي مساعد المدير الطبي لصحة الطفل والمراهقين في مؤسسة الرعاية الأولية والقائد الوطني لاستراتيجية الأطفال والمراهقين الأصحاء: إن إحدى أهم مبادرات مؤسسة الرعاية الصحية هي توفير الخدمات الصحية في بيئة ملائمة لذوي الإعاقة في المراكز الصحية، حيث تم العمل على توفير بيئات صديقة للحواس في غرف انتظار العيادات الخارجية، وعيادات الأسنان، وعيادة طب الأسرة، وعيادة صحة الأم والطفل، وعيادة الطفل السليم، وعيادة الأذن والأنف والحنجرة، وعيادة العيون بعشرة مراكز صحية.

وأضافت أن المؤسسة اعتمدت أيضا خدمة المسار السريع لكافة الفئات العمرية من ذوي الإعاقة؛ وذلك بهدف تسهيل وتسريع الحصول على الاستشارة الطبية وخدمات الرعاية الصحية الأولية للمراجعين من ذوي الإعاقة، من خلال تقديم خدمات الرعاية الصحية في مسار سريع، وتوفير الدعم اللازم عند الزيارة إلى المركز الصحي من قبل فريق خدمة العملاء (حياك) والطاقم الطبي.

وأشارت إلى أن خدمة المسار السريع تحظى بأهمية بالغة لدى مؤسسة الرعاية الأولية، حيث تم تدريب طاقم العمل على كيفية التواصل والتعامل مع ذوي الإعاقة البصرية، كما تم تدريب طاقم العمل من كل من مؤسسة الرعاية الصحية الأولية ومؤسسة حمد الطبية على لغة الإشارة، لتهيئة وتمكين الكادر الطبي والإداري للتواصل والتعامل مع ذوي الإعاقة السمعية بشكل فعال وعلى أكمل وجه.

وأوضحت الدكتورة صدرية الكوهجي أن إحدى أهم خدمات مؤسسة الرعاية الصحية الأولية في هذا الإطار تتمثل أيضا في خدمة الفحص المبكر لاضطراب طيف التوحد في عمر 18 و30 شهرا للمولود عند زيارة عيادة الطفل السليم، وذلك سعيا إلى الكشف المبكر عن الاضطراب، والعمل على الإحالة اللازمة للرعاية المختصة، وتوفير الدعم اللازم بناء على التشخيص الطبي المعتمد، حيث تم تدريب الكادر الطبي والإداري على إجراء الكشف المبكر لاضطراب طيف التوحد عن طريق خبراء محليين ودوليين من خلال دورات تدريبية مختلفة.

وكشفت عن طرح برنامج (الإيرلي بيرد)، وهو عبارة عن برنامج تدريبي لأولياء أمور الأطفال المشخصين باضطراب طيف التوحد، ويهدف إلى تحسين وتطوير علاقة الأبوين بالطفل، وعلى تسهيل طرق التواصل بينهم وبين أطفالهم المشخصين بالتوحد، خاصة في البيئة المنزلية.

وقد شاركت مؤسسة الرعاية الصحية الأولية في الاحتفال باليوم العالمي لذوي الإعاقة، الذي يصادف الثالث من ديسمبر من كل عام، ويهدف إلى زيادة الوعي بالأشخاص من ذوي الإعاقة، حيث بدأت الأمم المتحدة بالاحتفال بهذا اليوم منذ عام 1992 تحت شعار “يوم للجميع”.
