Doha: The French Football Federation announced that Lucas Hernandez will miss the rest of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 matches after sustaining a knee injury during the defending champions’ 4-1 victory over Australia Tuesday in Group D.
The French Federation said in a statement that Hernandez had ruptured the cruciate ligament in the knee and would not continue the tournament.
The 26-year-old Bayern Munich player went out early after the opening attack of the Australian national team 9 and remained on the grass for two minutes, holding his knee.
Hernandez joined the list of injured in the French national team after Karim Benzema, Paul Pogba, N’Golo Kante, Christopher Nkunku, Presnel Kimpembe, and goalkeeper Mike Maignan.
France will face Denmark in their next match on Saturday before meeting the Tunisian team on Nov. 30.

الدوحة: أعلن الاتحاد الفرنسي لكرة القدم، أن لوكا هرنانديز سيغيب عن بقية مباريات كأس العالم FIFA قطر 2022 بعد إصابته في الركبة خلال فوز حامل اللقب على أستراليا 4 – 1 يوم /الثلاثاء/ ضمن منافسات المجموعة الرابعة.
وذكر الاتحاد الفرنسي، في بيان، أن هرنانديز أصيب بقطع في الرباط الصليبي للركبة ولن يستكمل البطولة.
وخرج لاعب بايرن ميونيخ الألماني البالغ 26 عاماً مبكراً، بعد هجمة افتتاح التسجيل لمنتخب أستراليا (9)، وظل على العشب لمدة دقيقتين ممسكا بركبته.
وانضم هرنانديز إلى قائمة المصابين في المنتخب الفرنسي بعد كريم بنزيمة وبول بوغبا ونغولو كانتي وكريستوفر نكونكو وبريسنيل كيمبيمبي والحارس مايك مينيان.
وتواجه فرنسا في مباراتها القادمة الدنمارك يوم /السبت/ المقبل، قبل أن تلتقي المنتخب التونسي في 30 نوفمبر الجاري.
