Chinese Astronauts Return to Earth after Five-Month Space Station Mission

Beijing: The Shenzhou-16 crew consisting of three Chinese astronauts returned to Earth safely on Tuesday, after completing a five-month space station mission.

Shenzhou-16’s return capsule, carrying the astronauts touched down at the Dongfeng landing site on Tuesday morning, according to the China Manned Space Agency (CMSA).

The Shenzhou-16 astronauts are in good health and the Shenzhou-16 manned mission proved a success, China’s News Agency (Xinhua) said.

The crew, which remained in orbit for 154 days, carried out a total of 70 space experiments. During the mission, the Shenzhou-16 crew performed a space walk, delivered a lecture from the space station, and on several occasions assisted with the movement of cargo.

بكين: أعلنت وكالة الفضاء المأهول الصينية، أن رواد فضاء “شنتشو-16” في حالة بدنية جيدة، وإن مهمة “شنتشو-16” المأهولة تمت بنجاح.

وكشفت الوكالة أن كبسولة العودة للمركبة الفضائية “شنتشو-16″، التي أقلت على متنها رواد الفضاء، هبطت في موقع دونغفنغ للهبوط صباح اليوم.

وبعد وقت قصير من هبوط كبسولة العودة، وصل فريق البحوث الأرضي إلى موقع الهبوط، وأكد الطاقم الطبي أن رواد الفضاء في صحة جيدة.

وأطلقت الصين المركبة الفضائية المأهولة “شنتشو-16” يوم 30 مايو الماضي، وتعتبر هذه هي أول مهمة مأهولة لمرحلة التطبيق والتطوير لمحطة الفضاء الصينية.

وأجرى طاقم المركبة الذي بقي في المدار لمدة 154 يوما، ما إجماليه 70 تجربة فضائية وقام بعملية سير في الفضاء وألقى محاضرة من محطة الفضاء وساعد في إخراج حمولات من محطة الفضاء عدة مرات.
