Hazm Mebaireek General Hospital Successfully Performs 10,000 Surgeries

Doha: Hamad Medical Corporations (HMC) Hazm Mebaireek General Hospital announced that 10,000 surgeries have been successfully performed at the Hospital in a span of two years.

The surgeries covered several specialties, including urology, orthopedics, plastic surgery, and urgent surgeries.

HMCs Chief Medical Officer and Chairman of Surgery Dr. Abdulla Al Ansari explained that performing 10,000 surgeries at Hazm Mebaireek General Hospital within 24 months is a remarkable achievement and an important milestone in the hospitals successful journey of development and improvement. Performing this number of surgeries in such a short timeframe reflects the hard work and dedication of the hospitals administration and distinguished team of surgeons. This is despite the temporary cessation of surgical activity for several non-consecutive months due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the strict adherence to precautionary measures, which enabled the hospital to conduct emergency surgeries only during certain periods.

He added that this achievement supports HMCs plans to maintain the highest levels of service through continuous improvement of the quality of care provided to patients and the adoption of the best internationally recognized practices, as well as the use of the latest surgical techniques to ensure the delivery of safe, compassionate and effective health care to all patients.

Dr. Morshed Ali Salah, Senior Consultant, Surgery and Head of the Surgery and Urology Departments at Hazm Mebaireek General Hospital explained that 50% of the 10,0000 surgeries were performed in the Urgent Surgery section, while urological surgeries constituted 25% of the total number of surgeries and orthopedic and plastic surgeries constituted the remaining 25%. The surgeries were performed on patients aged between 18 and 80 years.

Dr. Morshed noted that the Hospitals six operating rooms run at 85% capacity and are staffed with a team of 35 surgeons who perform around 600 surgeries every month. The average waiting time for non-urgent surgeries does not exceed two weeks.

Hazm Mebaireek General Hospital is a teaching hospital that offers training to medical students from Qatar University, as well as residency and fellowship programs for medical graduates in different specialties. In addition, surgical departments at the hospital published 96 medical research papers in the past three years.

الدوحة: كشفت مؤسسة حمد الطبية عن إجراء 10 آلاف عملية جراحية ناجحة في مستشفى حزم مبيريك العام خلال فترة عامين فقط شملت تخصصات المسالك البولية والعظام وجراحة التجميل والجراحات العاجلة .

وقال الدكتور عبد الله الأنصاري رئيس الإدارة الطبية ومدير دائرة الجراحة بمؤسسة حمد الطبية أن عدد العمليات التي أجريت في مستشفى حزم مبيرك العام خلال 24 شهرا يعد إنجازا هاما في مسيرة التطور الناجحة لكل من إدارة المستشفى ولأقسام الجراحة بتخصصاتها المتنوعة وكذلك للجراحين المتميزين الذين أجروا هذا العدد الكبير من الجراحات خلال فترة زمنية قصيرة، وذلك على الرغم من توقف النشاط الجراحي لعدة شهور غير متصلة بسبب جائحة كورونا وما تطلبته من الالتزام الصارم بالإجراءات الاحترازية وضوابط إجراء العمليات الطارئة فقط خلال الفترة المذكورة .

وأضاف في تصريح صحفي أن ذلك الحجم من العمليات في ظرف وجيز يعزز من خطط مؤسسة حمد الطبية الرامية إلى الحفاظ على أعلى مستويات الخدمة من خلال التحسين المستمر لجودة الرعاية المقدمة للمرضى وتطبيق أفضل الممارسات العلاجية العالمية، وأحدث الأساليب الجراحية على الصعيد العالمي، بهدف تقديم رعاية صحية آمنة وفعالة لكافة المرضى.

بدوره، أوضح الدكتور مرشد علي صلاح رئيس أقسام الجراحة ورئيس قسم المسالك البولية في مستشفى حزم مبيريك العام أن 50 بالمئة من إجمالي عدد عشرة آلاف جراحة التي أجريت في المستشفى كانت بقسم الجراحات العاجلة في حين بلغ عدد جراحات المسالك البولية 25 بالمئة من العدد الإجمالي ومثلها لجراحات العظام والتجميل، كما تنوعت أعمار المرضى الذين أجريت لهم تلك الجراحات بين 18 و 80 عاما .

وأشار إلى أن المعدل التشغيلي لغرف العمليات في مستشفى حزم مبيريك العام بلغ حوالي 600 عملية شهريا وبنسبة حوالي 85 بالمئة من الطاقة الاستيعابية لغرف العمليات الست التي يعمل بها 35 طبيبا جراحا، كما يصل الحد الأقصى لمعدل الانتظار بالنسبة للجراحات غير العاجلة أسبوعين فقط.

ويعد مستشفى حزم مبيريك العام مستشفى تعليميا حيث يستقبل طلاب كلية الطب بجامعة قطر للتدريب العملي وكذلك الأطباء في برنامج الأطباء المقيمين عقب التخرج بالإضافة إلى أطباء الزمالة في تخصصات مختلفة ، وقد بلغ عدد الأبحاث التي تم نشرها من خلال أقسام الجراحة 96 بحثا طبيا في السنوات الثلاث الأخيرة.
