Decline in Heart Attacks Mortality: HMC
حمد الطبية: انخفاض معدل الوفيات الناتجة عن الأزمات القلبية
Doha: Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) revealed that the death rate from acute heart attacks during the past year 2021 decreased by 2 percent compared to 2015, which is comparable to the global rates of the best hospitals in the world.
The corporation attributed this decline to the continuous development witnessed by the Heart Hospital in terms of devices and technologies, as well as medical teams qualified to deal quickly with acute cases in recent years .
These statistics were revealed on the occasion of the Heart Hospital organizing the first “Cardiac Catheterization Day” to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the beginning of catheterization at Hamad Medical Corporation.
During the ceremony, Consultant Cardiologist Dr. Hajar Ahmed Hajar Al-Binali reviewed the history of the cardiac catheterization department since its establishment, the stages of development of the services provided, the development of the department, the services and modern technologies that have led to improving the health care provided to patients at the Heart Hospital, which is comparable to the services provided in the best hospitals in the world.
For his part, Medical Director of the Heart Hospital Dr. Nidal Al-Asaad announced that the number of cardiac catheterization operations has increased by 50 percent over the past five years, as the Heart Hospital performs more than 4,500 therapeutic and diagnostic catheterization operations annually, including 1,100 cases of emergency cardiac catheterization for critical and urgent cases that require rapid intervention through a rotating team with the necessary experience and equipment to deal with difficult and complex cases and by international standards.
Al-Asaad said that the rapid intervention for these cases is carried out within a period not exceeding only 45 minutes which is much less than the internationally approved standard of 90 minutes, and the Heart Hospital also provides cardiac catheterization services for cases transferred from the heart departments of Al Khor, Al Wakrah and Hazm Mebaireek hospitals.
He pointed out that in recent years, the cardiac catheterization department has witnessed the adoption of modern techniques and methods when performing cardiac catheterization, where devices to assist the heart pump (Ecmo) have been introduced, in addition to treating mitral valve leakage through catheterization, which was previously performed by surgical intervention and is inserted through a catheter, stapling and repairing leakage.
Deputy Head of the Heart Department for Medical Affairs and Director of Catheterization Laboratories at the Heart Hospital Dr. Abdul Rahman Orabi stressed that what distinguishes the Heart Hospital from other hospitals is the application of the best international standards despite the high number of cases compared to other heart hospitals and the employment of the best medical equipment in addition to having highly qualified and professional medical expertise.
He revealed that the waiting period for cardiac catheterization for non-urgent cases has decreased from 8 months to 4 weeks over the past four years.

الدوحة: كشفت مؤسسة حمد الطبية عن انخفاض معدل الوفيات الناتجة عن الأزمات القلبية الحادة خلال العام الماضي 2021 بنسبة 2 بالمائة مقارنة بعام 2015 ، وهو ما يضاهي المعدلات العالمية بأفضل المستشفيات على مستوى العالم.
وعزت المؤسسة هذا الانخفاض الى التطور المستمر الذي يشهده مستشفى القلب من حيث الأجهزة والتقنيات وكذلك الفرق الطبية المؤهلة للتعامل السريع مع الحالات الحادة وذلك خلال السنوات الأخيرة .
وتم الكشف عن هذه الاحصائيات بمناسبة تنظيم مستشفى القلب “يوم القسطرة القلبية” الأول احتفالا بمرور 40 عاما على بداية القسطرة بمؤسسة حمد الطبية.
وخلال الاحتفال استعرض الدكتور حجر أحمد حجر البنعلي استشاري أمراض القلب نبذة عن تاريخ قسم قسطرة القلب منذ إنشائه ومراحل تطور الخدمات التي قدمها والتطور الذي لحق بالقسم والخدمات والتقنيات الحديثة ما أدى إلى تحسين الرعاية الصحية المقدمة للمرضى بمستشفى القلب، والتي تضاهي الخدمات المقدمة في أفضل المستشفيات على مستوى العالم.
من جهته اعلن الدكتور نضال الأسعد المدير الطبي لمستشفى القلب عن زيادة عدد عمليات القسطرة القلبية بنسبة 50 بالمائة خلال الخمس سنوات الأخيرة حيث يقوم مستشفى القلب بإجراء ما يزيد عن 4500 عملية قسطرة علاجية وتشخيصية سنويا من بينها 1100 حالة قسطرة قلبية إسعافية للحالات الحرجة والعاجلة التي تتطلب تدخلا سريعا من خلال فريق مناوب لديه الخبرة والتجهيزات اللازمة للتعامل مع الحالات الصعبة والمعقدة و بمعايير عالمية.
وقال انه يتم التدخل السريع لتلك الحالات خلال مدة لا تتجاوز 45 دقيقة فقط ( وهي مدة تقل كثيرا عن المعيار المعتمد عالميا وهو 90 دقيقة) ، كما يقدم مستشفى القلب خدمات القسطرة القلبية للحالات التي يتم تحويلها من أقسام القلب بمستشفيات الخور والوكرة وحزم مبيريك.
وأشار إلى أنه في السنوات الأخيرة شهد قسم قسطرة القلب اتباع تقنيات وأساليب حديثة عند إجراء القسطرة القلبية حيث تم إدخال أجهزة لمساعدة مضخة القلب (Ecmo) ، بالإضافة إلى علاج تسرب الصمام الميترالي عن طريق القسطرة، والذي كان يتم سابقا عن طريق التدخل الجراحي ويتم الدخول عن طريق القسطرة وإجراء تدبيس وإصلاح التسرب.
بدوره أكد الدكتور عبد الرحمن عرابي نائب رئيس قسم القلب للشؤون الطبية ومدير مختبرات القسطرة بمستشفى القلب أن ما يميز مستشفى القلب عن غيره من المستشفيات الأخرى هو تطبيق أفضل المعايير الدولية على الرغم من ارتفاع عدد الحالات بالمقارنة مع مستشفيات القلب الأخرى وتوظيف أفضل المعدات الطبية الى جانب امتلاكه خبرات طبية ذات كفاءة ومهنية عالية.
وكشف عن تراجع فترة الانتظار لإجراء القسطرة القلبية للحالات غير العاجلة من 8 أشهر إلى 4 أسابيع خلال الأعوام الأربعة الماضية.
