Doha Jewellery & Watches Exhibition؛ Qatar’s most dazzling gathering
The Doha Jewellery & Watches Exhibition is among the major events of its kind in the world. From May 9-14, more than 500 brands from over 10 countries will converge at Doha Exhibition and Conference Center (DECC) to showcase their newest jewellry creations alongside classic collections.
Though this is an essential networking occasion for everyone who’s interested in what could well be the world’s most glamorous industry, the DJWE is proud to be completely accessible: entry is free to all. By simply registering in advance at djwe.qa, you’ll be able to explore the exhibition’s many pavilions, attend workshops, and, of course, ogle gorgeous displays of the most decadent and beautiful watches and jewellery.
Event highlights
Following a two-year hiatus, the 18th DJWE is making up for lost time with a packed programme that makes ambitious use of the cavernous DECC.
An integral component of the annual gathering is its international pavilions, which showcase the craftsmanship and character of specific locales in spellbinding detail. In celebration of their long-standing relationships with the Middle East, Turkish and Indian jewellers will this year occupy showstopper displays. Both locations will be peerless perches from which to learn more about the countries’ distinct aesthetic and cultural legacies.
As ever, DJWE will also provide a platform for pioneering homegrown talents. A proportion of the exhibition will be occupied by 10 eminent and emerging Qatari designers, whose work has been chosen as a representation of the country’s flourishing creatives. Qatar’s most eminent jewellers will be manning displays too, each one crammed with sparkling showcases of local and global jewellery.
Further international clout comes courtesy of Bollywood superstar Alia Bhatt, who is the face of this year’s event. Expect a flurry of excitement to follow her appearance at the opening ceremony.
There’s plenty more besides. World-renowned experts will lead workshops covering everything from diamonds’ rarity to the technicalities of watch production. Jewellery-themed movies will also be screened at the DJWE Lounge, though the greatest escapism will probably come when gazing in admiration at the world’s most lavish and lovely jewellery displays. From DJWE regulars such as Cartier and Bulgari to an inaugural showing from Louis Vuitton, the world’s biggest luxury brands will all be making extravagant efforts to ensure they’re the name everyone is talking about.
