Ashghal opens Logistics City Interchange on G Ring Road to Traffic
“أشغال” تفتتح تقاطع “المدينة اللوجيستية” على الطريق الدائري السابع أمام الحركة المرورية

The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ has opened the Logistics City Interchange to traffic which is located at the south entrance of the G-Ring Road at the Free Zone, southwest of Hamad International Airport before the Airport Interchange, in line with the county’s plan to complete expressway projects being implemented by Ashghal
The new interchange consists of two levels and three bridges each of which has three to four lanes in each direction, in addition to four exits, making the capacity of the junction approximately 10,000 vehicles per hour.
Additionally, Ashghal built three tunnels surface water drainage network, treated water lines for irrigation purposes of the surrounding green areas, and communication network, and service roads on both sides of the interchange, extending for two kilometers in length.
Strategic Interchange
Ashghal points out that the Logistics City Interchange will link the east and west Free Zone directly to Hamad International Airport, G-Ring Road, and surrounding roads such as Ras Abu Abboud Street, Airport Road, and Sabah Al Ahmad Corridor. The interchange is also integrated with Doha Metro to facilitate access to the Free Zone station.
The new interchange is important as it is located in a logistical area of strategic importance, as it will facilitate the movement of commodities and goods from Hamad International Airport and the Free Zone to all areas whether inside or outside of Doha, where G-Ring road is located and leads to south areas, Industrial Area, Al Majd road. It also intersects with Ras Abu Abboud street reaching Corniche and Doha Central.
On his part, Eng. Bader Darwish, Highway Projects Department manager, affirmed that the expressway network accomplished by Ashghal has achieved a qualitative improvement in traffic across Qatar, & the construction of a new interchange on the G-Ring road will mainly serve the Free Zone, as it does not have a direct connection with G-Ring road. . Therefore, the interchange will directly link the Free Zone with the G-Ring road and surrounding areas across the State.
G-Ring Road
The Logistics City interchange is integrated with the G-Ring road, making it the 9th vital interchange extending 22km in length. The G-Ring road is one of the most important interchanges of which the expressway network consists in the State of Qatar.
As an expressway, it provides uninterrupted traffic flow which will positively result in less traffic congestion on other roads in other areas, integrated with other interchanges in the expressway network such as Sabah Al Ahmad Corridor and Ras Abu Abboud street.
The G-Ring Road provides new vital entrances to Industrial Area from the south connecting it with Hamad International Airport, Hamad Port, Mesaieed Road, Bu Samra border, and north areas by connecting with Al Majd road, and a direct link to Logistics Village, to and from Hamad International Airport.

افتتحت هيئة الأشغال العامة “أشغال” تقاطع “المدينة اللوجيستية” أمام الحركة المرورية، والذي يقع عند المدخل الجنوبي للطريق الدائري السابع عند المنطقة الحرة جنوب غرب مطار حمد الدولي قبل تقاطع المطار، وذلك في إطار خطة الدولة لاستكمال مشروعات الطرق السريعة التي تنفذها “أشغال”.
ويتألف التقاطع الجديد من مستويين، حيث يحتوي على ثلاثة جسور ويتألف كل منها من ثلاثة إلى أربعة مسارات في كل اتجاه، إلى جانب أربعة مخارج، لتصل الطاقة الاستيعابية للتقاطع إلى نحو 10,000 مركبة في الساعة.
كما تم إنشاء ثلاثة أنفاق لتوفير شبكة لتصريف المياه السطحية، وخطوط للمياه المعالجة لاستخدامها في أغراض الري المختلفة للمسطحات الخضراء المحيطة إلى جانب توفير شبكة الاتصالات، بالإضافة إلى إنشاء طرق خدمية على جانبي التقاطع بطول نحو 2 كيلومتر.
تقاطع إستراتيجي
وتشير “أشغال” إلى أن تقاطع المدينة اللوجيستية سيعمل على ربط المنطقة الحرة الشرقية والغربية ببعضها بشكل مباشر مع مطار حمد الدولي والطريق الدائري السابع والطرق المحيطة مثل شارع راس بوعبود وطريق المطار ومحور صباح الأحمد، كما يتكامل التقاطع مع مترو الدوحة ليسهل الوصول إلى محطة المنطقة الحرة.
يزيد من أهمية التقاطع الجديد أنه يقع في منطقة لوجستية ذات أهمية إستراتيجية حيث سيسهل حركة السلع والبضائع من مطار حمد الدولي والمنطقة الحرة إلى كافة المناطق سواءً داخل الدوحة أو خارجها، حيث يقع على الطريق الدائري السابع المؤدي إلى المناطق الجنوبية والمنطقة الصناعية وطريق المجد، كما يتقاطع مع شارع راس بوعبود وصولاً للكورنيش ووسط الدوحة
من جهته، أكد المهندس بدر درويش، مدير إدارة مشروعات الطرق السريعة، أن شبكة الطرق السريعة التي أنجزتها الهيئة حققت طفرة نوعية للحركة المرورية في كل أرجاء قطر، منوهاً إلى أن إنشاء تقاطع جديد على الطريق الدائري السابع يخدم بالأساس المنطقة الحرة والتي ليس لها طريق مباشر يصلها بالطريق الدائري السابع، لذا فإن التقاطع سيوفر ربطا مباشراً للمنطقة الحرة مع الطريق الدائري السابع والطرق المحيطة والتي تؤدي إلى كافة مناطق الدولة.
الطريق الدائري السابع
يتكامل تقاطع المدينة اللوجيستية مع الطريق الدائري السابع ليصبح تاسع تقاطع في الطريق الحيوي الذي يمتد بطول 22 كيلومتر، حيث يمثل الطريق الدائري السابع أحد المحاور الهامة التي تتكون منها شبكة الطرق السريعة في قطر. وبكونه طريقاً سريعاً يوفر تدفقاً مرورياً دون توقف سيحقق أثراً إيجابياً كبيراً على الحركة المرورية في جنوب البلاد، كما ستنعكس آثاره الإيجابية في تخفيف الضغط المروري على الطرق القائمة بالمناطق الأخرى، متكاملاً بذلك مع باقي المحاور بشبكة الطرق السريعة مثل طريق المجد وطريق مسيعيد ومحور صباح الأحمد وشارع راس بوعبود.
كما يوفر الطريق الدائري السابع مداخل حيوية جديدة للمنطقة الصناعية من الجهة الجنوبية، توفر ربطاً مباشراً مع مطار حمد الدولي، كما يربطها بميناء حمد ومسيعيد ومنفذ بوسمرة والمناطق الشمالية من خلال اتصاله بطريق المجد، واتصالاً مباشراً بالقرية اللوجستية من وإلى مطار حمد الدولي.
