More than 62,000 seats vacant in private schools and kindergartens

Doha: The Private Schools Licensing Department at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE) revealed that there are over 62,000 vacant seats in private schools and kindergartens, while new schools are expected to open in the next academic year, after the procedures of application are finalized.

The Ministry said on Monday that private school and kindergarten enrollment for the academic year 2022-2023 has been active since March, noting that Oct. 13 will be the deadline for pupils and students in Qatar, while the deadline for pupils and students abroad will remain active until January of 2023.

Director of the Private Schools Licensing Department at the Ministry Hamad Mohammed Al Ghali indicated that there are 334 private schools and kindergartens in Qatar that offer 24 diverse educational curricula, including community schools, as well as various international curricula, stressing that this large number of schools and vacant seats provide parents with wide options to choose the right school or kindergarten for their children.

Al Ghali commended the comprehensive database provided by the administration on these schools on the ministry’s website, which allows parents and students alike to look into schools according to general or detailed options represented in the location, the curriculum, the school stage, the type of school, or the name of the school, as this data enables obtaining general information about the school, along with its tuition fees, and other data that will help parents choose the right decisions.

In late February, the Private Schools Licensing Department sent a circular to all private schools and kindergartens to begin the enrollment process starting from March, explaining that the enrollment process will be done by schools, in which they will receive guardians’ requests for enrollment for the new year and list them on the electronic system of the Ministry (early registration screen) within a week from the date of admission, after which schools will be required to notify the guardians of the approval within a period of no less than one week from the date of admission.

The administration stressed in the circular that placement test fees for kindergarten pupils must be free, as taking the test will be free of charge, explaining that the placement test fee is collected when the test is taken, provided that there is a vacancy.

According to the circular, students transferred to other schools must not be registered in the system, in the presence of financial dues (late fees) on the school they are being transferred from. Schools must not keep students or pupils on the waiting list for more than a week from the date of the application, and therefore direct them to an alternate school.

The Department emphasized that students and pupils must not be enrolled in a school that exceeds the specified capacity approved by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.

الدوحة: كشفت إدارة تراخيص المدارس الخاصة بوزارة التربية والتعليم والتعليم العالي عن وجود أكثر من 62 ألف مقعد شاغر في المدارس ورياض الأطفال الخاصة، في حين توقعت أن يتم افتتاح مدارس أخرى جديدة في العام الأكاديمي المقبل في حال إنهاء إجراءات الطلبات التي تقدمت بها.

وذكرت وزارة التربية والتعليم والتعليم العالي، يوم أمس، ان عملية التسجيل في المدارس ورياض الأطفال الخاصة للعام الأكاديمي 2022 – 2023 والتي بدأت في الأول من شهر مارس الجاري متواصلة حتى الآن على ان تستمر حتى يوم 13 اكتوبر القادم بالنسبة للطلبة داخل قطر، بينما يتم تسجيل الطلبة القادمين من خارج الدولة في موعد لا يتجاوز شهر يناير من العام 2023.

واشار السيد حمد محمد الغالي مدير إدارة تراخيص المدارس الخاصة بالوزارة إلى وجود 334 مدرسة وروضة أطفال خاصة في دولة قطر تقدم 24 منهجا تعليميا متنوعا، تشمل المعايير الوطنية، ومدارس الجاليات، إلى جانب مناهج دولية مختلفة، ومؤكدا في الوقت ذاته أن هذا العدد الكبير من المدارس والشواغر الموجودة فيها توفر لأولياء الأمور خيارات واسعة لاختيار المدرسة أو الروضة المناسبة لأبنائهم.

ونوه الغالي بقاعدة البيانات الشاملة التي وفرتها الإدارة عن هذه المدارس من خلال الموقع الإلكتروني للوزارة، والتي تتيح لأولياء الأمور والطلبة على حد سواء، البحث عن المدارس في الدولة وفق خيارات عامة أو تفصيلية تتمثل في الموقع، والمنهج الدراسي، والمرحلة الدراسية، ونوع المدرسة، أو اسم المدرسة حيث تمكن هذه البيانات من الحصول على معلومات عامة عن المدرسة، إلى جانب رسومها الدراسية، وغيرها من البيانات التي ستساعد أولياء الأمور في اتخاذ القرارات المناسبة في الاختيار.

وكانت إدارة تراخيص المدارس الخاصة أرسلت في نهاية فبراير الماضي تعميما إلى جميع المدارس ورياض الأطفال الخاصة بفتح باب التسجيل فيها بدءا من الأول مارس الجاري، وأوضحت فيه أن التسجيل يكون عن طريق المدرسة حيث تقوم باستقبال طلبات أولياء الأمور الخاصة بالتسجيل للعام الجديد وإدراجها على النظام الإلكتروني التابع للوزارة (شاشة التسجيل المبكر) خلال أسبوع من تاريخ قبوله، وعلى المدرسة إخطار ولي الأمر بالموافقة على تسجيل الطالب في مدة لا تقل عن أسبوع من تاريخ قبوله .

وشددت الإدارة في التعميم على عدم تحصيل رسوم تحديد المستوى لطلبة مرحلة الروضة وفي حال رغبتها بإجراء الاختبار يكون بدون مقابل مادي، ويتم تحصيل رسوم اختبار تحديد المستوى عند إجراء الاختبار شريطة وجود شاغر، ولا يتم تسجيل أي طالب في النظام في حالة وجود مستحقات مالية (رسوم متأخرة) على المدرسة المنتقل منها، كما لا يحق للمدرسة إبقاء الطالب في قائمة الانتظار أكثر من أسبوع من تاريخ الطلب وتوجيهه إلى مدرسة أخرى بديلة .

كما أكدت ادارة تراخيص المدارس الخاصة أنه لا يمكن للمدرسة تسجيل أي طالب في حال تجاوزت المدرسة الطاقة الاستيعابية المقررة لها والمتعمدة من وزارة التربية والتعليم والتعليم العالي.
