Ministry of Municipality announces plans for Eid Al Adha

The Ministry of Municipality and Environment announced its preparations for Eid Al Adha, by providing abattoirs and making sure they are ready and providing Udhiyahs of various kinds, as well as organizing public beaches for swimming and temporary camping.

During two press conferences held today to discuss these preparations, the ministry and other related authorities reviewed the general hygiene plan in parks, corniche and beaches, and precautionary and preventive measures to preserve the security and safety of the public.

In this regard, the Assistant Undersecretary for public services at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment Ahmed Mohammed Al Sada said that the ministry has prepared well for the occasion by increasing the number of workers, cars and hygiene containers on public beaches. He indicated that the ministry will implement campaigns to raise the awareness of the public.

For his part, Assistant Undersecretary for Environmental Affairs Hassan Jumaa Al Muhannadi, talked about organizing beaches to preserve the safety of visitors, pointing out that the ministry held several meetings with the relevant authorities to organize work and deal with any emergency during this period.

He explained that environmental inspectors were distributed on the beaches and at sea to control violations and direct the public to places where they can swim and determine the requirements for horse riding. In addition to providing security points at the entrances and exits of the beaches to ensure the application of precautionary measures such as EHTERAZ application, social distancing and wearing of masks in cooperation with the Lekhwiya Force, as well as providing ambulances in areas of density in coordination with Hamad Medical Corporation.

Director of the Natural Reserves Department at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment Saleh Hasan Al Kuwari, said that arrangements were made with the Coast Guard and the border to provide a number of cruisers, and scooters to undertake rescue and observation operations for beachgoers and places designated for swimming, especially in the Maroona and Al Ghariya beaches. 

Al Kuwari warned that the beaches should be preserved and clean because they belong to everyone, pointing out that the ministry will carry out awareness campaigns and distribute garbage bags to beachgoers to preserve the environment and gathering places.

During the conference related to the preparations of the abattoirs for the blessed Eid Al Adha, Undersecretary for Municipal Affairs, Mansour Abdullah al Mahmoud at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment confirmed that the ministry is ready for this important religious and social event long before to facilitate the public and maintain their safety, especially in light of the good results achieved by the state in overcoming Corona pandemic (COVID-19).

He added that the meeting was held with the relevant authorities to ensure the safety of the Udhiyahs and precautionary abattoirs procedures, by intensifying field visits to them and ensuring their readiness and checking their employees on an ongoing basis. Likewise, the number of health inspectors and sterilization rounds inside and outside abattoirs is constantly increasing, immediate disposal of slaughter waste and organizing sales operations. He explained that work will be done in the abattoirs during the whole week from five in the morning until five in the evening, under the supervision of specialized veterinarians and complete concern for the safety of the Udhiyahs received to the public. With the confirmation of the extent of commitment of workers to these abattoirs in terms of the presence of health and personal hygiene certificates, in order to receive the Udhiyahs of the public and veterinary examination of them throughout the days of Eid Al Adha.

In the same context CEO of Widam, AlNoubay Salem Al Marri, stressed the company’s role in providing Udhiyahs to meet local demand, pointing to several initiatives undertaken by the company in cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, and the Ministry of Municipality and Environment to support the Udhiyahs of citizens.

He stressed that the company takes all precautions during the sales and slaughtering operations, where the customer can choose the Udhiyah and buy it and receive it after the slaughter while he is in his car. This system was applied during the last month of Ramadan, and proved successful and will be applied during the blessed Eid Al Adha in order to preserve the safety of the Udhiyahs and to prevent overcrowding inside the abattoirs, he pointed out.

The CEO of Widam said it was important to avoid informal means when it came to preparing Udhiyah, as part of the efforts to keep Coronavirus spread under control. He noted that there was a phone app that would deliver Udhiyahs to homes to keep everyone safe. 

Speaking to The Peninsula Musa Al Othman, Director of Public Relations at Widam said that the company offered 22,000 Sudanese sheep at the rate of QR480 per head including slaughtering and porter charges out of 35,000 sacrificial cattle which were made avilable for this Eid Al Adha.

He said that sacrificial animals are available at Widam outlets besides the slaughterhouses.

The slaughterhouses include Al Wakra automated abattoir, automated abattoir at old Central Market, slaughterhouse at Al Mazrouah, Al Sheehaniya slaughterhouse, Al Rayan slaughterhouse, Muaither slaughterhouse and Al Shamal slaughterhouse.

أعلنت وزارة البلدية والبيئة عن استعداداتها لاستقبال عيد الأضحى المبارك، من خلال تجهيز المقاصب والتأكد من جاهزيتها وتوفير الأضاحي بمختلف نوعياتها، وكذلك تنظيم الشواطئ العامة لاستقبال الجمهور مع تحديد أماكن السباحة وأوقات التخييم المؤقت.

وخلال مؤتمرين صحفيين عقدتهما الوزارة اليوم بهذا الخصوص، استعرضت الوزارة والجهات ذات الصلة خطة النظافة العامة في الحدائق والكورنيش وعلى الشواطئ، والإجراءات الاحترازية والوقائية للحفاظ على أمن وسلامة الجمهور.

وفي هذا الصدد أوضح المهندس أحمد محمد السادة وكيل الوزارة المساعد لشؤون الخدمات العامة بوزارة البلدية والبيئة ، أن الوزارة استعدت جيدا لهذه المناسبة الدينية الهامة من خلال زيادة عدد العمال والسيارات وحاويات النظافة على الشواطئ العامة، مع تكثيف المرور على الحاويات لتفريغها أولا بأول، مشيرا إلى ان الوزارة ستقوم خلال أيام العيد بتنفيذ حملات توعوية على مرتادي الشواطئ والحدائق العامة وتركيب لوحات إرشادية على الشواطئ لتوجيه الجماهير للأماكن المخصصة لكل نشاط.

من جهته تحدث المهندس حسن جمعة المهندي وكيل الوزارة المساعد لشؤون البيئة عن تنظيم الشواطئ للحفاظ على أمن وسلامة المرتادين، لافتا إلى أن الوزارة عقدت عدة اجتماعات مع الجهات ذات الصلة لتنظيم العمل والتعامل مع أي طارئ خلال هذه الفترة.

وأوضح أنه تم توزيع المفتشين البيئيين على الشواطئ وفي البحر لضبط المخالفات وتوجيه الجمهور إلى أماكن السباحة وتحديد اشتراطات ركوب الخيل، بالإضافة إلى توفير نقاط أمنية على مداخل ومخارج الشواطئ للتأكد من تطبيق الإجراءات الاحترازية مثل /تطبيق احتراز والتباعد الاجتماعي وارتداء الكمامات/ بالتعاون مع قوة لخويا، وكذلك توفير سيارات إسعاف في المناطق ذات الكثافة وذلك بالتنسيق مع مؤسسة حمد الطبية.

وأكد المهندس حسن جمعة المهندي أن الوزارة ستوفر محلات تجارية مؤقتة لبيع وسائل الأمان على الشواطئ، وكذلك المواد الغذائية خلال فترة العيد، مشيرا إلى أن شوي اللحوم على الشواطئ ليس ممنوعا على أن يكون في الأماكن المخصصة وأن يتم التخلص من بقايا الفحم لعدم التعرض للمخالفة.

بدوره أوضح السيد صالح حسن الكواري مدير إدارة المحميات الطبيعية بوزارة البلدية والبيئة، أنه تم الترتيب مع خفر السواحل والحدود لتوفير عدد من /الطرادات/ و/السكوترات/ لتتولى عمليات الإنقاذ والمراقبة لمرتادي الشواطئ والأماكن المخصصة للسباحة، خاصة في منطقتي المرونة والغارية اللتين تتواجد بهما محلات لتأجير الألعاب المائية، مبينا أن التخييم المؤقت مسموح به خلال عطلة نهاية الأسبوع وفي الإجازات الرسمية في جميع مناطق الدولة، وأنه لن يتم السماح بالاستمرار في غير هذه الأوقات.

ونبه الكواري إلى ضرورة الحفاظ على الشواطئ ونظافتها لأنها ملك للجميع، لافتا إلى أن الوزارة ستقوم بحملات توعوية وتوزيع أكياس القمامة على مرتادي الشواطئ حفاظا على البيئة وأماكن التجمعات.

وخلال المؤتمر المتعلق باستعدادات المقاصب لعيد الأضحى المبارك أكد السيد منصور عبد الله المحمود وكيل الوزارة المساعد لشؤون البلديات بوزارة البلدية والبيئة، استعداد الوزارة لهذه المناسبة الدينية والاجتماعية الهامة قبل فترة طويلة للتسهيل على الجمهور والحفاظ على سلامتهم خاصة في ظل النتائج الجيدة التي حققتها الدولة في التغلب على جائحة كورونا /كوفيد 19/.

وأضاف أنه تم الاجتماع مع الجهات ذات الصلة للتأكد من سلامة الأضاحي وإجراءات المقاصب الاحترازية، من خلال تكثيف الزيارات الميدانية إليها والتأكد من جاهزيتها وفحص العاملين بها بشكل مستمر، وكذلك زيادة عدد المفتشين الصحيين وجولات التعقيم داخل المقاصب وخارجها بشكل مستمر والتخلص الفوري من مخلفات الذبح وتنظيم عمليات البيع.

وأوضح أنه سيتم العمل في المقاصب خلال أيام الأسبوع كاملة من الساعة الخامسة صباحاُ وحتى الخامسة مساء، تحت إشراف الأطباء البيطرين المختصين والحرص التام على سلامة الذبائح المستلمة للجمهور، مع التأكد من مدى التزام العاملين بهذه المقاصب من حيث وجود الشهادات الصحية والنظافة الشخصية، وذلك لاستقبال ذبائح الجمهور والكشف البيطري عليها طيلة أيام عيد الأضحى المبارك.

في السياق ذاته أكد السيد النوبي السالم المري الرئيس التنفيذي لشركة /ودام/ على دور الشركة في توفير الأضاحي لتلبية الطلب المحلي، مشيرا إلى العديد من المبادرات التي قامت بها الشركة بالتعاون مع وزارتي التجارة والصناعة، والبلدية والبيئة لدعم أضاحي المواطنين.

وشدد على أن الشركة تتخذ جميع الإجراءات الاحترازية أثناء عمليات البيع والذبح، حيث يستطيع العميل اختيار الذبيحة وشراءها واستلامها بعد الذبح وهو داخل سيارته.. لافتا إلى أن هذا النظام تم تطبيقه خلال شهر رمضان الماضي، وأثبت نجاحه وسيتم تطبقه خلال عيد الأضحى المبارك حفاظا على سلامة المضحين ومنعا للتكدس داخل المقاصب.

ونصح الرئيس التنفيذي لشركة /ودام/ بعدم الذبح العشوائي أو الاعتماد على القصابين المتجولين خاصة خلال هذه الفترة، للحفاظ على مكتسبات الدولة من القضاء على فيروس / كوفيد 19/ مع تنزيل تطبيق الشركة الإلكتروني لتوصيل الأضاحي إلى المنزل والدفع الإلكتروني حفاظا على سلامتهم.
