US’ IHI Hails Quality of Healthcare in Qatar

Doha: Dr. Kedar Mate, president and CEO of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) in the US, praised Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) great capacity and capability for quality improvement within the public healthcare system in Qatar.
Dr. Kedar Mate visited HMC for two days to meet with senior leaders and quality improvement advisors across the Corporation. The visit, which marks the 10-year partnership between IHI and HMC’s Hamad Healthcare Quality Institute (HHQI), helped reaffirm HMC’s ongoing commitment to quality improvement and patient safety.
He commended the value of having such a committed leadership, especially within HMC, who are so engaged in all aspects of quality and patient safety. He also stated the benefit of having expertise provided by HHQI experts across the corporation, which has led to a high percentage of interdisciplinary teams work on improvement programs to bring about real system changes.
Dr. Abdullah Al Ansari, head of the HMC medical management department, confirmed that the next phase of the partnership between the two sides will focus on providing better value and ensuring appropriate care for each patient in the right place and time, as the Corporation improves access to care at the level of the health system through its various facilities and health care systems in Qatar.
In turn, Nasser Al Nuaimi, vice president of quality sector and HHQI director, said that the past decade of strategic partnership between the two sides focused on building capabilities across the HMC healthcare and achieving effective results in the field of improving quality and patient safety.

جاء ذلك في تصريح للدكتور ميت بمناسبة زيارة قام بها لمؤسسة حمد، ممثلة في معهد حمد لجودة الرعاية الصحية، وتتزامن مع مرور 10 سنوات على الشراكة الاستراتيجية بين الجانبين، منوها بجهود التحسين المختلفة والفهم العميق لأساليب وأدوات تحسين الجودة الواضحة في مستشفيات ومرافق المؤسسة.
وأعرب ميت عن إعجابه بإجراءات تحسين الجودة المطبقة في مؤسسة حمد الطبية، من أجل التطوير المستمر للرعاية الصحية وضمان تقديم رعاية عالية الجودة تتمحور حول الفرد والأسرة والمشاركة في جميع جوانب الجودة وسلامة المرضى.
من جانبه، أكد الدكتور عبدالله الأنصاري رئيس الإدارة الطبية بمؤسسة حمد الطبية، أن المرحلة القادمة من الشراكة بين الجانبين ستركز على تقديم قيمة أفضل وضمان الرعاية المناسبة لكل مريض في المكان والوقت المناسبين حيث تقوم المؤسسة بتحسين الوصول للرعاية على مستوى المنظومة الصحية عبر مختلف مرافقها وأنظمة الرعاية الصحية في دولة قطر.
بدوره، قال السيد ناصر النعيمي نائب الرئيس لقطاع الجودة ومدير معهد حمد لجودة الرعاية الصحية، إن العقد الماضي من الشراكة الاستراتيجية بين الجانبين ركز على بناء القدرات والإمكانيات عبر نظام الرعاية الصحية في مؤسسة حمد الطبية وتحقيق نتائج فعالة في مجال تحسين الجودة وسلامة المرضى.
