Dr. Soha Al Bayat clarifies the targeted groups for the third dose

Dr. Soha Al-Bayat, Head of the Vaccination Department at the Ministry of Public Health, said that the people targeted by the booster doses of the Coronavirus vaccine (the third dose) are those who have immunodeficiency diseases, immunology problems, chronic diseases or congenital diseases that cause weak immunity, along with those over 50 years of age and the front lines of the health sector, as they are at risk of contracting the virus.
How to get the third dose
In an interview with Qatar TV’s “Social Distance” program, Dr. Soha Al Bayat said that the third dose is provided by the Primary Health Care Corporation, and that anyone who is eligible for the third dose after eight months of receiving the second dose is contacted to take the appropriate appointment at the center where he received the doses.
She pointed out that the main reason to take the first and second dose is to protect yourself and protect those around you who are not qualified to take the vaccine, which is the same reason to take the third dose because if your immunity lessens you are then vulnerable to be infected and thus infect the people around you, the third dose protects you and protects those around you
She explained that the third dose has no side effects, and its symptoms are similar to the first and second doses, stressing that the vaccines used in Qatar have proven very effective worldwide in terms of efficiency and security.

قالت الدكتورة سهى البيات، رئيس قسم التطعيمات بوزارة الصحة العامة، إن الأشخاص المستهدفين من الجرعات المعززة للقاح كورونا (الجرعة الثالثة) هم المصابون بأمراض المناعة أو لديهم مشاكل للمناعة أو لديهم أمراض مزمنة أو أمراض خلقية تسبب ضعف في المناعة، ومعهم من هم فوق الـ 50 عاماً والصفوف الأمامية للقطاع الصحي، حيث إنهم معرضون لمخاطر الفيروس .
آلية الحصول على الجرعة الثالثة
وحول آلية الحصول على الجرعة الثالثة، قالت د. سهى البيات – في مقابلة مع برنامج “المسافة الاجتماعية” على تليفزيون قطر- إن كشوفات المستهدفين والمؤهلين لأخذ الجرعة الثالثة موجودة لدى مؤسسة الرعاية الأولية، وكل ما يكون أحد مؤهل للحصول على الجرعة الثالثة بعد أن مر عليه 8 شهور من الجرعة الثانية يتم الاتصال عليه لأخذ الموعد المناسب في المركز الذي حصل فيه على الجرعتين.
وأشارت إلى أن السبب الأساسي لأخذ الجرعة الأولى والثانية لتحمي نفسك وتحمي من حولك من غير المؤهلين لأخذ اللقاح وهو نفس السبب لأخذ الجرعة الثالثة لأن المناعة إذا نزلت فأنت معرض للإصابة وستقوم بعدوى من حولك فالجرعة الثالثة تحميك وتحمي من حولك .
وأوضحت أنه ليس للجرعة الثالثة أعراض جانبية تذكر وأعراضها مشابهة للجرعتين الأولى والثانية، مشددة على أن اللقاحات المستخدمة في قطر أثبتت فعالية عالية جداً على مستوى العالم من الكفاءة والأمن.
