MoPH Launches Continuing Medical Education Program

Doha: The Ministry of Public Health has launched the Continuing Medical Education Program for the National Clinical Guidelines and for health practitioners in the State of Qatar, in cooperation between the strategic planning and performance departments, and health specialties.

The program offers a series of educational activities for health practitioners in the form of virtual educational tours broadcast live on the information network under the title National Clinical Guidelines.

Within the framework of the practical application of the program, a scientific seminar was organized today for health practitioners of various specializations on “Anemia in Children”.

Director of the Strategic Planning and Performance Department at the Ministry of Public Health, Huda Amer Al Kathiri expressed her pleasure at working on launching this program in cooperation with the Department of Healthcare Professions (DHP),saying that intensive and concerted efforts in this program and others will provide resources and strengthen the outputs of operations in this regard and will also help in continuing the provision of an effective and advanced health care system to achieve the goals of the National Health Strategy.

For his part, Director of the Department of Healthcare Professions Dr. Saad Al Kaabi said the Department is keen to assist health practitioners in the State of Qatar to develop their professional performance and upgrade the level of services they provide to patients by providing medical education and continuing professional development activities, adding that it is also keen to support other departments of the Ministry of Public Health and its various programs in order to achieve the Ministry’s objectives and raise the level of medical services provided in the State of Qatar.

It is noteworthy that the National Clinical Guidelines Team of the Strategic Planning and Performance Department at the Ministry of Public Health has supervised the development of 52 national clinical guidelines in various medical specialties, in addition to issue special brochures for patients related to these guidelines in Arabic and English, according to the best international standards. They have also been published on the website of the Ministry of Public Health, Qatar National Library and the Guidelines International Network.

A work plan, including many educational and awareness activities for health practitioners and a number of other activities, has been drawn up, within the framework of the Ministry of Public Health’s keenness to achieve the goals for which these guidelines were developed in order to make them part of the daily practice of health practitioners in their various locations with a view to improving the quality of health care.

It was also agreed with the Department of Health Professions to present a program of continuing medical education activities to deliver the content of clinical guidelines to health practitioners in the State of Qatar.

Based on all this, a three-year accredited continuing education program has been established. It consists of a series of virtual educational tours / category 1 of continuing professional development activities / broadcast live and directly through the information network to be recorded and provided in the form of self-educational activities (Category 2 of CPD activities) to allow health practitioners benefit from these activities according to the time appropriate for them and educational and professional needs.

Health practitioners will be able to obtain the Continuing Medical Education and Continuing Professional Development points required to renew their professional license in Qatar by participating in these activities which may also be used to fulfill the requirements for membership of other professional institutions.

الدوحة: أطلقت وزارة الصحة العامة برنامج التعليم الطبي المستمر للمبادئ الإرشادية السريرية الوطنية وللممارسين الصحيين في دولة قطر، بالتعاون بين إدارتي التخطيط الاستراتيجي والأداء، والتخصصات الصحية.

يقدم البرنامج سلسلة من الأنشطة التعليمية للممارسين الصحيين في صورة جولات تعليمية افتراضية تُبث مباشرةً عبر شبكة المعلومات تحت عنوان/ المبادئ الإرشادية السريرية الوطنية/.

وفي إطار التطبيق العملي للبرنامج تم اليوم تنظيم حلقة علمية للممارسين الصحيين بمختلف تخصصاتهم حول / فقر الدم عند الأطفال/.

وأعربت السيدة هدى عامر الكثيري مدير إدارة التخطيط الاستراتيجي والأداء في وزارة الصحة العامة عن سعادتها بالعمل على اطلاق هذا البرنامج بالتعاون مع إدارة التخصصات الصحية، وقالت إن تكثيف وتكاتف الجهود في هذا البرنامج وغيره سيوفر الموارد ويقوي مخرجات العمليات بهذا الخصوص، والمساعدة في مواصلة تقديم نظام رعاية صحية فعال ومتطور وتحقيق أهداف الاستراتيجية الوطنية للصحة.

من جانبه قال الدكتور سعد الكعبي مدير إدارة التخصصات الصحية، إن الإدارة حريصة على مساعدة الممارسين الصحيين في دولة قطر في تطوير ادائهم المهني ورفع مستوى الخدمات التي يقدمونها للمرضى من خلال توفير أنشطة التعليم الطبي والتطوير المهني المستمر، كما تحرص على دعم الإدارات الأخرى في وزارة الصحة العامة وبرامجها المختلفة من أجل تحقيق أهداف الوزارة ورفع مستوى الخدمات الطبية المقدمة في دولة قطر.

يذكر أن فريق المبادئ الإرشادية السريرية الوطنية التابع لإدارة التخطيط الاستراتيجي والأداء في وزارة الصحة العامة قد أشرف على تطوير 52 مبدأً إرشاديًا سريريًا وطنيًا في مختلف التخصصات الطبية، بالإضافة إلى نشرات خاصة للمرضى تتعلق بتلك المبادئ الإرشادية باللغتين العربية والإنجليزية ، وفق أفضل المعايير العالمية، وتم نشرها على موقع وزارة الصحة العامة ومكتبة قطر الوطنية والشبكة الدولية للمبادئ الإرشادية.

كما تم كذلك إعداد خطة عمل تتضمن العديد من الأنشطة التعليمية والتوعوية للممارسين الصحيين وعددًا من الأنشطة الأخرى، في إطار حرص وزارة الصحة العامة على تحقيق الأهداف التي طُورت هذه المبادئ الإرشادية من أجلها وجعلها جزءًا من الممارسة اليومية للممارسين الصحيين في مختلف مواقعهم لتحسين جودة الرعاية الصحية.

وتم أيضا الاتفاق مع إدارة التخصصات الصحية على تقديم برنامج من برامج أنشطة التعليم الطبي المستمر لتوصيل المحتوى الخاص بالمبادئ الإرشادية السريرية إلى الممارسين الصحيين في دولة قطر.

وبناءً على كل ذلك تم إنشاء برنامج تعليمي مستمر معتمد مدته ثلاث سنوات بدءًا من أكتوبر الجاري ، ويتكون من سلسلة من الجولات التعليمية الافتراضية / من الفئة 1 من أنشطة التطوير المهني المستمر/ يتم بثها حيًا ومباشرةً عبر شبكة المعلومات، على أن يتم تسجيلها وتوفيرها على شكل أنشطة تعليمية ذاتية /من الفئة 2 من أنشطة التطوير المهني المستمر/ لإتاحة الفرصة للممارسين الصحيين للاستفادة من هذه النشاطات بحسب الوقت المناسب لهم واحتياجاتهم التعليمية والمهنية.

وسيتمكن الممارسون الصحيون من الحصول على نقاط التعليم الطبي والتطوير المهني المستمر المطلوبة لتجديد الترخيص المهني الخاص بهم في دوله قطر من خلال المشاركة في هذه الأنشطة التي قد تستخدم أيضًا لاستيفاء متطلبات عضوية مؤسسات مهنية أخرى.
