SC official resolves controversy over “Host Fan” initiative

Doha: Khaled Al Jumaili, project manager of the “Host Fan” initiative launched by the Supreme Committee for Delivery to receive football fans during the Arab Cup, said the initiative is designed to take into account all caveats related to Islam, customs, traditions and values in all its aspects.
“The initiative is new to the Qatari community, so there have been different reactions to it, and it is important to brief the followers on the program so that we eliminate misunderstandings about the conditions and controls,” he said on “Hayatuna” program on Qatar TV.
“We started working on the idea of the initiative more than a year ago, and we launched a questionnaire in which more than 2,000 people participated, with 95% of participants saying that the idea of hosting fans is excellent and should be applied.”
Speaking to the program “Two And a Half” on al-Kaas channels, Al-Jumaily said that the turnout for the initiative exceeded expectations. “Our expectations for the registration process for the initiative have been between 100 and 200 hosting applications, but so far we have more than 500 applications, which is very special.
“I want to note something important about the initiative’s controls: that a single man can host a man like him, a woman hosts a woman, and the family hosts a family.”
On the categories that can participate in the initiative, he said: “The initiative is not limited to Qataris, but members of the communities residing in Qatar, which belong to one of the participating countries, can participate in this event, for example with regard to the Arab Cup, if an Arab family residing in Qatar wants to host a family of the same nationality, or if a single Arab man wants to host a friend or person of the same nationality, this is available.
“One of the most important things is that Qataris are not the only ambassadors of Qatar, and residents who grew up in Qatar have the possibility to be ambassadors through this unique initiative.”
“We have launched this initiative for those who want to host the Arab Cup fans specifically, where they can do it where they want, whether on their Majlis, farm or in additional accommodation,” he said.
On the objectives of the initiative, Al Jumaili said: The people of Qatar are hospitable in nature and we want through the initiative to show Qatari and Arab hospitality and promote the building of bridges of communication between the Qatari people and the peoples of the region with an additional link, which is the love of football and attending matches.

الدوحة: أكد خالد الجميلي مدير مشروع مبادرة “كن أنت المستضيف” التي أطلقتها اللجنة العليا للمشاريع لاستقبال مشجعي كرة القدم خلال بطولة كأس العرب، أن المبادرة مصممة لتراعي كل المحاذير المتعلقة بالدين الإسلامي والعادات والتقاليد والقيم في مختلف جوانبها.
وأضاف خلال استضافته في برنامج حياتنا على تلفزيون قطر: المبادرة جديدة على المجتمع القطري لذلك تباينت ردود الأفعال بشأنها، ومن المهم أن نضع المتابعين في صورة البرنامج حتى نزيل سوء الفهم بشأن الشروط والضوابط.
وتابع: بدأنا العمل على فكرة المبادرة قبل أكثر من عام، وأطلقنا استبياناً شارك فيه أكثر من 2000 شخص وكان من ضمن نتائجه أن 95% من المشاركين قالوا إن فكرة استضافة المشجعين ممتازة ويجب تطبيقها.
وفي حديثه مع برنامج “ثنتين ونص” على قنوات الكاس، قال الجميلي إن حجم الإقبال للتسجيل في المبادرة فاق التوقعات.. وأضاف: “توقعاتنا لعملية التسجيل في المبادرة كانت بين 100 إلى 200 طلب استضافة، لكن حتى الآن لدينا أكثر من 500 طلب وهو شيء مميز للغاية.
وتابع: أريد التنويه على شيء هام فيما يخص ضوابط المبادرة وهي أن الرجل الأعزب يستطيع استضافة رجل مثله، والمرأة تستضيف امرأة، والعائلة تستضيف عائلة.
وحول الفئات التي يمكن لها المشاركة في المبادرة، قال: “المبادرة لا تقتصر فقط على القطريين، بل إن أعضاء الجاليات المقيمة في قطر التي تتبع إحدى الدول المشاركة في البطولة يمكنهم المشاركة في هذا الحدث، فعلى سبيل المثال فيما يتعلق بكأس العرب، إذا أردات عائلة عربية مقيمة في قطر استضافة عائلة من نفس الجنسية، أو إذا أراد رجل عربي أعزب استضافة صديق له أو شخص من نفس الجنسية فهذا متاح.
وأضاف: هناك أمر مهم للغاية وهو أن القطريين ليسوا وحدهم السفراء لدولة قطر، والإمكانية متوفرة للمقيمين الذين ترعرعوا في الوطن في أن يكونوا سفراء من خلال هذه المبادرة المميزة.
واستطرد قائلاً: أطلقنا هذه المبادرة لمن يرغب في استضافة جماهير كأس العرب تحديداً، حيث يستطيع القيام بذلك في المكان الذي يرغب فيه سواء في مجلسه أو مزرعته أو في سكن إضافي”.
وحول أهداف المبادرة قال الجميلي: شعب قطر مضياف بطبعه ونريد من خلال المباردة إظهار كرم الضيافة القطري والعربي وتعزيز بناء جسور التواصل بين الشعب القطري وشعوب المنطقة برابط إضافي وهو حب كرة القدم وحضور المباريات.
