Doha: Mr. Hamad Al-Hail, a medical laboratory technician at Sidra Medicine, said that the Covid-19 rapid PCR test at Sidra Medicine takes approximately two hours and is very expensive.
During his appearance in “Hayatna” Program on Qatar TV, Al-Hail explained that the traditional PCR test takes between 4 to 6 hours, and the rapid PCR test takes a maximum of two hours.
He added: This test is considered expensive compared to the traditional test, because in the laboratory we can receive 16 patients in one hour, but in order to provide the test for the majority of patients, we devised a method that accommodates the largest possible number, where we collect more than one sample at one time and examine the results, and through this we can analyze the number of positive cases in the community.
Sidra Medicine announced last month that it had adapted its laboratories to help fight the national and global battle against Covid-19.
Sidra Medicine is one of the fastest growing private Covid-19 PCR testing centers in Qatar, due to the rapid mobilization of its teams and resources in a time of pandemic.

الدوحة: قال السيد حمد الهيل، تقني مختبرات طبية بسدرة للطب، إن الفحص السريع لاختبار PCR الخاص بفيروس كورونا في سدرة للطب يستغرق ساعتين تقريباً وهو باهظ التكلفة.
وأوضح الهيل خلال استضافته في برنامج حياتنا على تلفزيون قطر، إن الفحص التقليدي PCR يستغرق بين 4 إلى 6 ساعات، أما الفحص السريع PCR يستغرق ساعتين بحد أقصى.
وأضاف: هذا الفحص يعتبر باهظ التكلفة مقارنة بالفحص التقليدي لأننا في المختبر نستطيع استقبال 16 مريضاً في ساعة واحدة، لكن لكي نوفر الفحص لأغلبية المرضى قمنا بابتكار طريقة تستوعب أكبر عدد ممكن، حيث نقوم بتجميع أكثر من عينة في وقت واحد ونفحص النتائج، ويمكن من خلال ذلك تحليل عدد الحالات الإيجابية في المجتمع.
وأعلن سدرة للطب، الشهر الماضي، أنه قام بتكييف مختبراته للمساعدة في خوض المعركة الوطنية والعالمية ضد كوفيد-19.
يُعدُّ سدرة للطب واحداً من أسرع مراكز اختبار PCR لكشف كوفيد-19 الخاصة في قطر، وذلك بسبب الحشد السريع لفرقه وموارده في وقت الجائحة.
