MoPH: Seasonal flu may lead to death of some

Doha: The Ministry of Public Health has warned of community groups’ negligence of not obtaining the seasonal influenza vaccine, stressing that seasonal influenza virus poses a threat to individual health, affects millions of people around the world, and hundreds of thousands are hospitalized for seasonal flu, and may sometimes lead to death.
The Ministry of Public Health urged community members to obtain the seasonal flu vaccine, with the national campaign launching on September 1st, the vaccine is available free of charge in 27 health centres, as well as 45 health facilities in the private and semi-governmental sector.
The Ministry of Public Health, Hamad Medical Corporation and the Primary Health Care Corporation announced the start of the annual vaccination campaign for the seasonal flu season on September 1st, where seasonal flu vaccinations are available free of charge in all health centers of the Primary Health Care Corporation and outpatient clinics of Hamad Medical Corporation and more than 45 private and semi-private clinics as well as hospitals distributed in the country, and the announcement came with warnings of experts that the flu season started earlier this year unusually.
The first phase of the country’s seasonal flu campaign focuses on key priority groups where individuals are more likely to develop severe influenza infections.
الدوحة: حذرت وزارة الصحة العامة من تهاون فئات المجتمع من الحصول على اللقاح المضاد للإنفلونزا الموسمية، مؤكدة أنَّ فيروس الإنفلونزا الموسمية يشكل خطرا على صحة الفرد، كما أنه يصيب الملايين من الناس أنحاء العالم، فيما يتم إدخال مئات الألوف إلى المستشفيات بسبب الإصابة بالإنفلونزا الموسمية، وقد يؤدي إلى الوفاة في بعض الأحيان.
وحثت وزارة الصحة العامة أفراد المجتمع على ضرورة الحصول على اللقاح المضاد للانفلونزا الموسمية، مع بدء الحملة الوطنية في الأول من سبتمبر، حيث يتوفر اللقاح مجانا في 27 مركزا صحيا، إلى جانب 45 منشأة صحية في القطاع الخاص وشبه الحكومي.
وكانت قد أعلنت وزارة الصحة العامة ومؤسسة حمد الطبية ومؤسسة الرعاية الصحية الأولية بدء حملة التطعيم السنوية لموسم الإنفلونزا الموسمية في الأول من سبتمبر الجاري، حيث باتت تطعيمات الانفلونزا الموسمية متاحة مجانا في كافة المراكز الصحية التابعة لمؤسسة الرعاية الصحية الأولية والعيادات الخارجية بمؤسسة حمد الطبية وأكثر من 45 عيادة خاصة وشبه خاصة إلى جانب المستشفيات الموزعة في البلاد، وجاء الإعلان مع تحذيرات الخبراء ببدء موسم الإنفلونزا مبكراً هذا العام على غير المعتاد.
وتركز المرحلة الأولى من حملة الإنفلونزا الموسمية في الدولة على المجموعات الرئيسية ذات الأولوية حيث يكون الأفراد أكثر عرضة للإصابة بعدوى الإنفلونزا الشديدة.
