MoPH: 90% of the elderly are vaccinated

Doha: Dr. Hanadi Al Hamad, Medical Director of Rumaila Hospital at Hamad Medical Corporation, leader of the “Healthy Aging Program” in the National Health Strategy of the Ministry of Public Health, confirmed that the “Elderly Reassurance Service” directly affected the high rate of vaccination among the elderly against the Coronavirus “Covid-19”, Pointing out that the program began with the beginning of the pandemic, and is continuing until now.

Dr. Al-Hamad added while speaking in the “Social Distance” program broadcast on Qatar TV yesterday evening: “The program is very effective, and the service to reassure the elderly reduces their fears and facilitates their appointments, explaining that the service was launched by the Department of Seniors of Hamad Medical Corporation, The team that communicates with the elderly is trained in this matter. The vaccination rate for older people had clearly increased, and 9 out of 10 people aged 65 and over had been vaccinated, which is a major achievement, and there is a small group that we are trying to reach in order to urge them to be vaccinated along with their families.

الدوحة: أكدت الدكتورةُ هنادي الحمد المديرُ الطبي لمُستشفى الرميلة بمؤسّسة حمد الطبية قائد «برنامج الشيخوخة الصحية» في الاستراتيجية الوطنيّة للصحة بوزارة الصحة العامة أن خدمة طمأنة كبار السنّ أثّرت بشكل مباشر في ارتفاع نسبة التّطعيم بين كبار السنّ ضد فيروس كورونا «كوفيد-19»، لافتة إلى أنّ البرنامج بدأ مع بداية الجائحة، وهو مستمرّ حتى الآن.

وأضافت د. الحمد، لبرنامج «المسافة الاجتماعية» المُذاع على تليفزيون قطر مساء أمس: إنّ البرنامج فعّال جدًا، وخدمة طمأنة كبار السنّ تقلل من مخاوفهم وتسهل مواعيدهم، موضحةً أنَّ الخدمة أطلقتها إدارةُ كبار السنّ بمؤسّسة حمد الطبية، وأنّ الفريق الذي يتواصل مع كبار السنّ مدربٌ على هذا الأمر. وأشارت إلى أنّ نسبة تطعيم كبار السن زادت بصورة واضحة، وتمّ تلقيح 9 من كل 10 أشخاص من عُمُر 65 فما فوق، وهو إنجاز كبير، وهناك فئةٌ صغيرة نحاول الوصول إليها من أجل حثّها على التطعيم بالمشاركة مع أهاليها.
