Italy: Clashes between protesters and police in Florence

Rome: Violent clashes took place in the Italian city of Florence between police and demonstrators protesting government measures to confront the epidemic, and about twenty of them were arrested. About two hundred people who were gathered in the city center were prevented from reaching Piazza della Signorina, one of the most prominent squares visited by tourists in the city, to participate. In a demonstration without permission, according to Italian media, clashes erupted with riot police in the neighboring streets. Some protesters threw Molotov cocktails, flasks and rocks, overturned garbage bins and destroyed security cameras.
“We spent a surreal, horrific and painful night in Florence,” said Florence Mayor Dario Nardella. “This is not the way in which we express our grievances and it is not the way we express our suffering.” It is only violence for unjustified violence”.

روما: جرت صدامات عنيفة في مدينة فلورنسا الإيطالية بين الشرطة ومتظاهرين محتجين على التدابير الحكومية لمواجهة الوباء، وتم توقيف نحو عشرين منهم.ومُنع نحو مئتي شخص كانوا متجمعين في وسط المدينة من الوصول إلى ساحة بيازا ديلا سينيورينا، إحدى أبرز الساحات التي يؤمها السياح في المدينة، للمشاركة في مظاهرة لم تحصل على إذن، بحسب الإعلام الإيطالي.ثم اندلعت صدامات مع شرطة مكافحة الشغب في الشوارع المجاورة. وألقى بعض المتظاهرين زجاجات حارقة وقوارير وحجارة، وقلبوا حاويات القمامة وحطموا كاميرات المراقبة.
وقال رئيس بلدية فلورنسا داريو نارديلا «أمضينا ليلة سريالية، مروعة ومؤلمة في فلورنسا».وأضاف «هذه ليست الطريقة التي نعبر بها عن مظالمنا وليست هذه هي الطريقة التي نعبر بها عن معاناتنا. إنه فقط العنف لأجل العنف الذي لا مبرر له».
