Doha: Doctors have warned against the demands of some of those who have received two doses of the Coronavirus vaccine on social media, to dispense with face masks, citing the significant decline in the curve of coronavirus infections and deaths in the state over the past weeks, and the decisions of some countries that allowed those who have received the doses of the vaccine against covid-19 to be able to dispense with masks.
A number of doctors surveyed by Al-Sharq confirmed that the decisions issued by the Ministry of Public Health in this regard stem from the monitored indicators of the epidemic, concerning the number of infections and the positive percentage of daily tests, the number of admissions to intensive care units, and the positive percentage of tests among contacts of “Covid-19” positive cases, and despite the decrease in cases over the past weeks, the decision to dispense with the use of protective face masks belongs to the Ministry of Public Health and not individuals, especially with the outbreak of the new Delta strain globally, they consider that obtaining both doses of the vaccine is also not a cause for complacency, especially since some vaccine recipients may be at risk of contracting the virus without any symptoms and thus transferring it to a group such as the elderly or chronically ill which may take their lives.
Dr. Yusuf Al-Maslamani, medical director of Hamad General Hospital, said in previous statements that the daily infection numbers of COVID-19 infections have declined significantly, he said, but the criteria for dispensing with the “masks” have not yet been reached by the community, noting that during one stage of the gradual lifting of restrictions they will be dispensed with, when the community reaches a safe side.

الدوحة: حذر أطباء من مطالبات البعض من الحاصلين على جرعتي اللقاح المضاد لفيروس كورونا عبر وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي، بالاستغناء عن أقنعة الوجه الواقية “الكمامة”، مستندين في مطالبهم إلى ما يشهده منحنى الإصابات والوفيات جراء فيروس كورونا من انخفاض ملحوظ في الدولة على مدار الأسابيع الماضية، وإلى قرارات بعض الدول التي سمحت للحاصلين على جرعتي اللقاح المضاد لفيروس “كوفيد-19” بإمكانية الاستغناء عن الكمامة.
وأكد عدد من الأطباء الذين استطلعت “الشرق” آراءهم أنَّ القرارات الصادرة عن وزارة الصحة العامة في هذا الخصوص نابعة من مؤشرات الوباء التي ترصدها، وتتعلق بعدد الإصابات ونسبة إيجابية الفحوصات اليومية، وعدد حالات الدخول إلى وحدات العناية المركزة، ونسبة إيجابية الفحوصات بين المخالطين لمصابي “كوفيد-19″، وبالرغم من انخفاض الحالات على مدار الأسابيع الماضية إلا أنَّ قرار الاستغناء عن استخدام أقنعة الوجه الواقية “الكمامة” من القرارات التي تعود إلى وزارة الصحة العامة وليس الأفراد، خصوصا في ظل تفشي سلالة “دلتا” الجديدة عالميا، معتبرين أنَّ الحصول على جرعتي اللقاح أيضا ليس مدعاة للتهاون بالإجراءات الاحترازية لاسيما وأنَّ بعض الحاصلين على اللقاح قد يكونون عرضة للإصابة بالفيروس دون أية أعراض وبالتالي نقله إلى احدى الفئات ككبار السن أو ذوي الأمراض المزمنة وقد يودي بحياتهم.
وكان الدكتور يوسف المسلماني -المدير الطبي لمستشفى حمد العام-، أكد في تصريحات سابقة أنَّ أعداد الإصابة اليومية بعدوى فيروس كورونا “كوفيد-19” قد انخفضت بشكل ممتاز –على حد قوله-، إلا أنَّ معايير الاستغناء عن “الكمامة” لم يصل إليها المجتمع حتى الآن، مشيرًا إلى أنه خلال إحدى مراحل رفع القيود التدريجية سيتم الاستغناء عنها، وذلك عند وصول المجتمع للمنطقة الآمنة.
