Doha: Dr. Huda Abdullah Al Saleh, Senior Consultant, Executive Director of Quality and Safety, Head of Infection Control at the Center for Women’s Health and Research, called on pregnant women to receive COVID-19 vaccination, pointing out that there are no harm to pregnant women if they receive the vaccine at any time throughout pregnancy.
“We encourage pregnant women to take the vaccine, because studies have confirmed that when pregnant women are infected with the virus, the side effects are higher than others, and may lead to pneumonia with the possibility of entering intensive care,” she said on the Social Distance program broadcasted on Qatar TV yesterday. There are cases of pregnant women who have been admitted to intensive care as a result of Coronavirus and some have had to deliver early as a result of their virus vulnerability.
She added: Many pregnant women receive information from unreliable medical sources, and everyone should not draw information from social media and abide by the guidance of the medical authorities. There is a special clinic for health education for pregnant women and answering all queries about vaccination before, during or after pregnancy or during lactation, and pregnant women are classified as high-risk cases that damage increases in once infected with the virus and this can affect the fetus.

الدوحة: طالبت الدكتورة هدى عبدالله الصالح استشاري أول، المدير التنفيذي للجودة والسلامة، رئيس مكافحة العدوى في مركز صحة المرأة والأبحاث، السيدات الحوامل بالحصول على التطعيم ضد فيروس كورونا «كوفيد-19».. مشيرة إلى أنه لا توجد توصيات بوجود أضرار على المرأة الحامل إذا حصلت على اللقاح في أي وقت طوال فترة الحمل.
وقالت د. الصالح، خلال استضافتها في برنامج المسافة الاجتماعية المذاع على تلفزيون قطر أمس: نشجع المرأة الحامل على أخذ اللقاح، لأن الدراسات أكدت أنه عند إصابة المرأة الحامل بالفيروس تكون الآثار الجانبية أعلى من غيرها، وقد يؤدي إلى إصابتها بالالتهاب الرئوي مع احتمالية دخول العناية المركزة.. وهناك حالات لحوامل أدخلن العناية المركزة جراء الإصابة بفيروس كورونا واضطررنا لتوليد بعضهن مبكرًا نتيجة تأثرهن بالفيروس.
وأضافت: العديد من الحوامل يتلقين المعلومات من غير مصادرها الطبية، وعلى الجميع عدم استقاء المعلومات من وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي والالتزام بتوجيهات الجهات الطبية.. هناك عيادة خاصة للتثقيف الصحي للحوامل والإجابة على جميع الاستفسارات الخاصة بالتطعيم قبل الحمل أو خلاله أو بعد الولادة وخلال فترة الرضاعة، كما تصنف المرأة الحامل بأنها من الحالات عالية الخطورة التي تزيد الأضرار حال إصابتها بالفيروس ويمكن أن يؤثر ذلك على الجنين.
