For 10 days, foreign media reported that a South African woman, Gosiama Tamara Sithole, had given birth to 10 twins, setting a world record, but the woman’s disappearance after birth raised interest.

According to Russia’s Sputnik agency, a relative of the missing woman’s husband, Russell Baloyi, spoke on Friday and said Gosiama was found after she disappeared several days ago, adding that she is currently undergoing a psychiatric evaluation.

“Police found Mother Gosiama following her husband Tibojo Tsutetsi’s disappearance report, but the police sent her to the Ministry of Social Development, which transferred her to the psychiatric department of Tempisa Hospital,” Baloyi said.

“When my friend and I went to see her in the hospital, the nurses told us that they were forbidden to talk to anyone about it,” Baloyi said, adding: “The family wants to get her out of the hospital but she is now classified as mentally unfit.”

South Africa’s Minister of Social Development Lindiwe Zulu said, “We have a lot of information and are trying to arrange it to be consolidated before it is put to the public in relation to the case of Gosiama Tamara Sithole, who claimed to have given birth to 10 twins,” according to local newspaper Times Life.

Two days ago, Gosiama’s husband’s Tsutitsi family announced her disappearance and that there was “no evidence of the existence of the 10 twins”.

Last week, media reports reported that a 37-year-old woman had 10 twins at once in the City of Khawting, South Africa.

According to media reports, the woman broke the Guinness World Record, according to local newspapers.

A South African official also confirmed to the BBC that “the lady has already given birth to 10 twins,” while another official said “they haven’t seen the infants yet.”

ووفقا لوكالة سبوتنيك الروسية فقد تحدّث أحد أقارب زوج السيدة المختفية (منجبة التوائم)، راسيل بالويي، اليوم الجمعة، وقال: إنه تم العثور على غوسياما بعد اختفائها منذ عدة أيام، مضيفا أنها تخضع حاليا لتقييم نفسي.

وأوضح بالويي، أن”الشرطة عثرت على الأم غوسياما إثر بلاغ اختفائها الذي تقدم به زوجها تيبوجو تسوتيتسي، لكن الشرطة أرسلتها إلى وزارة التنمية الاجتماعية التي نقلتها إلى قسم الأمراض النفسية بمستشفى تمبيسا”.

وتابع بالويي: عندما ذهبت أنا وصديقي لرؤيتها في المستشفى، أخبرنا الممرضون أنهم ممنوعون من التحدث إلى أي شخص حول هذا الأمر، مضيفا: “إن الأسرة تريد إخراجها من المستشفى لكنها الآن مصنفة على أنها شخص غير لائق عقليًا».

من جهتها، صرحت وزيرة التنمية الاجتماعية بجنوب أفريقيا، لينديوي زولو، بأنه «لدينا معلومات كثيرة ونحاول ترتيبها لتكون موحدة قبل طرحها للجمهور فيما يتعلق بقضية غوسياما تمارا سيثول، التي ادعت أنها أنجبت 10 توائم»، حسب صحيفة “تايمز لايف” المحلية.

يذكر أن عائلة تسوتيتسي التي ينتمي إليها زوج غوسياما أعلنت قبل يومين اختفائها وأنه «لا دليل على وجود التوائم العشر».

والأسبوع الماضي، تحدثت تقارير إعلامية، عن إنجاب امرأة تبلغ من العمر 37 عامًا، 10 توائم في وقت واحد في مدينة خاوتينغ بجنوب أفريقيا.

ولفتت التقارير الإعلامية، إلى أن المرأة حطمت الرقم القياسي العالمي لـ «موسوعة جينيس» للأرقام القياسية، بحسب ما ورد في الصحف المحلية.

كما أكد مسؤول من جنوب إفريقيا لهيئة الإذاعة البريطانية “بي بي سي”، أن “السيدة ولدت بالفعل 10 توائم”، بينما قال مسؤول آخر “إنهم لم يروا الأطفال بعد”.
