Family beaches without lifeguards

Doha: A number of citizens called on the Ministry of Municipality and Environment to work on providing a number of lifeguards in family beaches which are 5 (Sealine, Al Wakra, Simaisma, Al-Farkiah, Al Kharaij) as well as beaches that are witnessing a large turnout from families such as Sealine, Garia, Marona and Dukhan, especially with the summer season and holidays.
These beaches are very popular with visitors, stressing that drowning cases on beaches are handled by beachgoers, which is dangerous for their lives because of their lack of experience in rescue and first-aid work.
They suggested hiring lifeguards to roam the beach on marine scooters to facilitate rescue operations and installing signs on all beaches warning beachgoers not to neglect watching their children, oblige them to wear a life jacket and restrict swimming in the sea for people with swimming experience, placing warning signs inside the water indicating the distance allowed to swim in, so swimmers can avoid going long distances that make them vulnerable to pulling currents and deep places.

الدوحة: دعا عددٌ من المواطنين وزارة البلدية والبيئة إلى العمل على توفير عدد من المنقذين في شواطئ العائلات البالغ عددها 5 شواطئ هي (سيلين، الوكرة، سميسمة، الفركية، الخرايج) فضلًا عن الشواطئ التي تشهد إقبالًا كبيرًا من الأسر مثل سيلين والغارية والمرونة ودخان خاصة مع حلول موسم الصيف والإجازات، حيث تشهد تلك الشواطئ إقبالًا كبيرًا من الزوار، مؤكدين أن حالات الغرق في الشواطئ يتم إنقاذها من قِبل الزوار، الأمر الذي يشكل خطورة على حياتهم رغم عدم تمتعهم بالخبرة في أعمال الإنقاذ والإسعافات الأولية.
واقترحوا توظيف مُنقذين يجوبون الشاطئ على السكوترات البحرية لتسهيل عمليات الإنقاذ وتركيب علامات إرشادية في جميع الشواطئ لتحذير الرواد من إهمال متابعة أطفالهم، وإلزامهم بارتداء سترة النجاة وعدم دخول البحر إلا للأشخاص الذين يملكون خبرة لممارسة السباحة، ووضع علامات تحذيرية داخل المياه تبيّن المسافة المسموح بممارسة السباحة فيها لتجنب قيام الزوار بالتوغّل لمسافات بعيدة تجعلهم عرضة للتيارات الساحبة والأماكن العميقة.
