Vaccination protection expected to be extended for more than 9 months

Doha: Dr. Yousef Al-Maslamani, Medical Director of Hamad General Hospital, expects the protection of vaccination to be extended to more than 9 months, according to reports to be announced by the companies producing covid-19 vaccines.
“The Scientific Committee is following up on the possibility of antibiotics against the virus after the nine-month period, in order to extend the immunity period provided by the vaccine for more than 9 months as vaccine manufacturers continue to follow up on those who received the vaccine in the first period, and to show if antibodies are present in the body or not,” he said during an interview with the “Social Distance” program.
He pointed out that the decrease in the number of daily virus infections is an indicator of entry into the second phase of the plan to lift the restrictions announced, and stressed the importance of everyone’s commitment to precautionary measures, and explained that the new additions in the application of “EHTERAZ” were implemented according to global studies that proved the availability of antibodies in the body of the recovered patient for 9 months.

الدوحة: توقع الدكتور يوسف المسلماني، المدير الطبي لمستشفى حمد العام، تمديد مدة حماية التطعيم لتصل لأكثر من 9 أشهر، وذلك وفقًا للتقارير التي سوف تُعلِن عنها الشركات المُنتجة لـ لقاحات «كوفيد-19» .
وقال خلال استضافته في برنامج «المسافة الاجتماعية»: تتابع اللجنة العلمية إمكانية وجود المُضادات ضد الفيروس بعد فترة التسعة أشهر، وذلك لتمديد فترة الحصانة التي يوفرها اللقاح لأكثر من 9 أشهر في ظل استمرار الشركات المُصنّعة للقاحات بمُتابعة من تلقوا اللقاح في الفترة الأولى، وبيان مدى توفر المُضادات في الجسم من العدم.
وأشار إلى أن انخفاض أعداد الإصابات اليومية بالفيروس مُؤشر للدخول في المرحلة الثانية من خطة رفع القيود التي تم الإعلان عنها، وشدّد على أهمية التزام الجميع بالإجراءات الاحترازية، وأوضح أن الإضافات الجديدة في تطبيق «احتراز» تم العمل بها وفقًا للدراسات العالمية التي أثبتت بقاء المُضادات في جسم المُصاب المُتعافى لمدة 9 أشهر.
